Healthy rabbits or not?
DKGPestControl replied to Budaholic's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
It's hard to see from the images, y don't you skin it and find out? I have shot some with hernias and the lick them bauled! Also fatty tissue in the groin. Next time just skin the area until you see what it is! -
My best advice would be try and get a job with a big company like Rentokill or someone. Do 5 years with the company and get train up, get experience and lern to write reports etc. Then once you are happy and have a good understanding of pest control, give it a shot on your own! If you don't get the experience first, you will never get a good rep! If you even need a helping hand give us a bell! Also check out UKPestControllers.org its a hand forum

Also can't see you address advertised! It's law to have a postal address on a site.
-
Site looks great! I think you would benefit from a land line or 0800 number people don't like mobile numbers!!

Rabbits have been steady in Berkshire this year, I shot, ferret, snare or drop trap. never bothered with cages but I'm going to give them a go!

Just took a second hand Meopta Artemis 2100 3x12x50 ret 4c in part ex against a 20g. I put it on my 17hmr as I already have a Carl Zeiss Duralyt on the 243. After a couple of nights out lamping with it I have put it on the 243!!! Cracking scope! Love it.

weathering and tuning mole traps
DKGPestControl replied to danman's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Try it!! Works wonders! I only do it if I'm trapping moles where the home owner has already tried to catch the moles! Works with the old school scissor traps too! Although I'm not so keen on them traps! Don't knock it till you try it! -
Moles do navigate along footings! I find the only trap that works consistently in these situations are the Talpex traps! Although the NoMole has worked before!
-
I get mine from Killgerm! If you don't have an account check out protrapper

We have 3 vans two are sign written and one isn't. Hotels, pubs, restaurants etc do not want you in a sign written van! But I do think its worth it. The magnets are good as they can be easily removed

My Pest Control Site
DKGPestControl replied to DKGPestControl's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
It's very rare that we dint clear domestic mole jobs of upto around 5-6 moles in one night! Farms are usually cleared in 3-4 days up to 200a. We don't offer training we are purely and pest control company! Used Talpex or flat pack duffas traps and take your time when setting! -
I have always shot since a young lad going out with my dad! I have held a sgc for 12 years and i'm only 24! I have mainly shot shot guns and air guns untill a couple of years ago when I started using a 22lr. I then got the rifle bug and the shotgun stayed in the cabinet. Brought a 17hmr and a .243, I only used them for rabbits hares and foxes to start even though I have the deer stalking permission on quite a bit of land! But I never really wanted to shoot the deer. I have since started getting a lot of deer work comming in so needed to shoot them and have got the bug big time! Doing the DSC 1

DKGPestControl replied to DKGPestControl's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control

I smelt it lol I found the earth at the end of the garden and watched it going in and out! 1pm this is! Went back in the evening and never saw a thing! Ended up catching it on the Collarum. What area are you from? I do alot of beating and line keeping on estates In Alton, Bordon, Arundel, Highclere, Hermitage and Henley! Its £ per shooting session or £150 to have it trapped and dispatched, I don't get much work for dogs, which is a shame as it can be a grea -
My Pest Control Site
DKGPestControl replied to DKGPestControl's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Thanks for the feed back guys! I a ex game keeper / farmer hence the spellings!! I will try a re spell check the site! I place the product info on the site so that the clients have a good understanding of what will be used! I get asked by 90% of my clients what traps do you use, how do they work etc! This has stop 50% of that meaning im only on the phone half as long! So now I have time to do some work! -
I have just brought the Tikka T3 Laminated Stanless .243, Wildcat Sound Mod, Mounts and the upgraded Carl Zeiss Scope! Which added £375 but still only came to around £1,750.00. May farther has the T3 Hunter and same set up. bloody great bit of kit! If you can just push the budget a little the T3 Hunter with Sound Mod and Redfield scope is around £1,200 I have also herd good reviews about the new browning x bolt but I have no experience with them! Pest control training
DKGPestControl replied to bristolborn's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Killgerm - SX Enviromental - RSPH - BPCA the list gones on! -
I would stick to kill germ! They prices are top end on some things and sometimes the quantities are large but they will help you when ever they can, they happily give you advice about anything to do with pest control. I have used SX and Barrettine but just cannot beat killgerm. If you ever get stuck on a problem job then please feel free to give us a call. I went about things the same way as you and its nice to be able to speak to another pestie in person when your stuck on a job or even pricing a job. Regards Dean
