    I've passed them on but he didn't sound overly enthusiastic about calling! Not much of our land is any good for air guns as the rabbits are even spooked at 150yards! They know the range my hmr is zeroed to lol

    I don't get that last post? I agree with you! I don't see the point in a mole qualification! Even if some one is a master mole catcher and noes the distance from their dick tO there arse don't mean they will be able to catch a mole better than you or me! You are a professional mole catcher in my eyes when you catch every mole you set traps for!

    Muti catches are only caught by me in breeding season! I check traps everyday sometimes twice. The people that tell me the get double catches all year tend to only check traps weekly or fortnightly! I believe this is just due to them catching the existing mole, another one moves in and also gets caught!

    The moles on this link we all caught on really rich, black, boggy soil. There isn't many earthworms there but a lot of white worms! The farm I catch them on is in West Berkshire its 650acres but I have only caught them in one 12 acre field and no where else! I have caught silvery ones in Surrey and one ginger one on Wentworth golf course!

    You have hit the nail on the head there Jack..........Most just see membership of such organizations as a badge that somehow makes them "Qualified" in the eyes of the public and makes them legitimate. The only qualification you require to be classed as a good molecatcher is "Experience" and lots of it. When you can look at any mole job, no matter how big, and not be daunted by the prospect of clearing up the problem then, and only then, will you be qualified to describe yourself as a professional mole trapper.     Just to add to the info given above, moles have the shallow feeding tunnels, As stated above, hedges, ditches, woodland and river banks!

    we have done a fair few nest to be honest but more moles and squirrels than anything else! I'm not sure of the exact numbers but it would be over 60. Should be 300 or more by now! Catching like 40 mole per week and the farm have just started calling as the hay is in! It won't stop the man with a can as they are generally builders or window cleaners and use it for extra "cash" It won't shut them down as they earn their money from the day job! Its the small new start ups that have tried to do everything properly and gone flat out for pest control that will be hit hard!

    I tried both but found the guild to be crap to be honest! The BTMR is a great place to advertise and they are always really helpful when you need them!

If your happy to travel to Wokingham I will try and get you out for a evening roe stalking (to watch) and then go out with the lamp for rabbits / foxes! We also service a few farms in Marlow, west Sussex, Alton, Newbury, Andover and Blacknest. I'm getting a little board of shooting, i enjoy getting newbies out now!

    What sort of quarry are you after? I try and take a few people out each year to get people into the sport! Not taken anyone from this forum yet. If you would like to go out rabbit - fox - pigeon shooting then I will try and arrage something for when the crops are cut. What licences / gun do you have?     We have done a fair few wasps over the past 3 week but nothing like usual! we are up to about 65 nests so far! should be about 350-400 by now and i'm in the warm south! As others have said, Ants, fleas, rats, swarm colloections are well up on last year and moles calls are up by 250-300% on last year! Just starting to get the calls for rabbit shooting and the like now the crops and hay are starting to be cut!

    Hi All, I have been shooting roe and muntjac for a fair few years but always as a job! So big bucks are never really on the cards, and there aren't that many on the ground we shoot! I was shooting on a golf course the other night, with a report of a fairly bold roe buck that is worrying the golfers! I think he was a bit hormonal! It took me 3 evenings to get a shot at it, When i finally walked over to pick it up, I was suprised how big the body and the head was! Biggest i've shot before!     Our company catchers around 6,000 per year but thats one full time mole catcher and my farther when sept-feb so thats for more than one person! I think this year will be quite a bit higher as we are well up on last year already!

    At 100m with cci game point I'm about 10mm groups and with hornady v-max about 15mm! After 2 magazines that oes to about 25mm as he barrel gets hot.

    I get called quite a bit about rabbit shooting etc! Farmer just don't trust people with firearms these days! They even say would your company be interested in "paying" for my shooting rights? I always say "no. This is how I earn my living" Then the next day they ask if I would do it for free! "no" lol I think its because with a professional company they feel you'll be more trustworthy etc! Or maybe its just the area we operate in! Some of the farmers have even offered to mentor people for the first couple of times shooting! What has changed over the years? It never used to be like this?
