    Cheapies come and go. Let them get on with it, if you match them at £10 they will go to £9! Clients no exactly what they are truing to do and tend to have shite websites, which puts the customers off. Clients that just want the cheapest price possible are usually clients that you don't want to deal with anyway! Every company has different over heads and running cost, so we all need to charge accordingly. look at Rento £270 for a wasp nest!     I used to be a huge DR5 fan and raved on about them and the extension system. I always had two in the van with me, one with extension and one with the normal lance. I was reminded by Gail at KG that I had a heap of points to use so got a Dust Stick, since the day I got it my DR5's have been bunged in the store and not touched for almost 3 years! Nothing touches the Dust Stick for wasping in my eyes. Had a fair few calls today for wasps and we don't normally get much work come in on Sundays, so fingers crossed it's just a late season!

    Fleas and bird mites are one of the things we are busiest on. pretty much everything is busy apart from wasps! The wasps do finally seem to be picking up, got 6 booked in for tomorrow but that's it for the week so far

    What about removing the honey? I haven't read every comment on this thread but I haven't once seen it stated that removing and disposing of the contaminated honey is the best option. I have seen the damage caused by honey that has been blocked in walls, ceilings etc. It has potential to cause all manner of other pest issues, and in certain places can cause a fire risk. I understand that sometimes when it is behind brickwork it would be very costly to have it removed, however it should be offered as an option.

    Domestic work is exempt from requiring us leaving a transfer note with the client, but the waste produce at domestic properties will require a consignment note when it is collected from the store and this is when it will become commercial waste and the EA want to know how you have disposed of it. As for using disposable PPE, it just makes life easier than keeping maintenance reports, Disposable masks etc don't require maintenance sheets but will require waste transfer notes left with commercial clients. It seems your dammed if you do and your dammed if you don't!

    If the gloves, masks or other ppe is contaminated then it will be classed as hazardous. you will need to wear gloves when using the chemicals or decanting them into applicators. Coveralls, boot covers, masks, gloves etc etc from flea treatment will be hazardous waste. If you ready product labels a lot of them state that the packaging isn't to be reused for any other purpose. What will you do with the empty K-Othrine WG250 or other insecticide bottles you get? I don't see any way to avoid this legislation change. It is an unwanted one but just got to get on with it.     I have had this on a couple of occasions in the past but always thought it was weasels or stoats. But thought it was strange that the mole was never completely eaten. I still struggle to believe that another mole is actually eating it though, but they have the nashing gear and strong jaws for the job, so I guess it's possible.

    This whole thing seems fairly simple to me in the main, just more expense and poxy paperwork! The one thing we don't need in the pest control industry is paperwork! Killgerm have been helpful, Laura has spent quite a bit of time on the phone to them over this, but seems we have everything in place as of now. Yet another price increase coming for 2014 contract renewals! At least we don't have to label are mole traps and log how many times they have been used (yet)

    We have a fair few mole contracts, they were tricky to price until we had a few and no what to expect! Lost a bit of money on a couple to start but seem to have it about right now, I would never turn down the chance of a contract of that sort.

    I used to bury my traps as it was what I was taught to do! Since then I have found it to be a waste of time, get them in the ground and earning money!

    Not had much intrest in the calls yet but have seen a few bucks chasing about. Think its just about to get going here in Berkshire. I havn't been doing much stalking this year as my partner is almost ready to drop! Me old man has been doing it all for me. Lucky git

    I have a shed load of these cheap duffas traps if you want them. Matt said you have a demo trap i need to see! :-)

    The reason is you took offence for me reccomending a fellow mole catcher to what i belive to be the best trap on the market as do may others. I have used the "cheap" talpex type traps from primrose london before to good effect but the cheap duffas just dont cut the mustard for me. They are not strong enough for regular use.

    Had a couple of doubles (different traps) today. And a couple of call backs to gardens i cleared 2 weeks ago.

    I guess it depends if you earn a living with your tools or use them for a hobby!

    I dont work around many badgers but i doubt if i loose 10 traps a year and thats with two employees.

    We have used a golf trolly with a plastic pheast hopper strapped to it.

    You've obviously not been keeping up. It is rubbish to suggest that you need expensive traps. Cheap Chinese traps are just as good. It's all in how you place your trap. Thats what i thought until Matt the Rat and others talked me into trying some. Cheap traps are shite.

    Doubles have slowed for us here now just the odd one here and there. Went through a 14 day period where all 3 of us and two other pestie mate had a job to atch them but gladly that has gone back to normal lol
