Cracked Hmr Ammo Help
Bunny Boiler replied to shropshire dan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Are they cracked before firing? Is that what you're saying? Or are the cases cracked after firing? If its after, the reason could be to do with head space when the round is in the chamber if its before, then I would be unsure. Never come across any like that myself. -
you mean 22lr if so it would depend on the ammo used not the rifle Hey Paul, Do semi-auto's not produce less ft/lb than a standard bolt action, I'm sure I heard that somewhere? they will produce the same but use it differently I think he's referring to the ft/lb after it has left the barrel. The .22lr semi autos work by using some of the energy from the expanding gases to cock the action, and therefore ejecting the case. It is a minor amount but it is an amount. Military centre fire semi/auto rifles instead use a gas rod system with gas ports at the end of the barrel, which results in

Butcher Forced To Remove Meat Display After Hate Protests
Bunny Boiler replied to Astral's topic in General Talk
This is quite an interesting one. I sell to three butchers and a pub around me, one butchers in the centre of oxford in the covered market, one at a shop just outside the centre and an organic produce farm shop in the sticks where they sell rabbits shot on their land by me (one of the agreements to me shooting there). The pub is also in the centre of oxford. They buy for high prices in the city than the country butchers, so pays for my rounds, fuel, and general gun/hunting gear. The point of this is that actually, the little country farm shop doesn't really display their rabbits terribly w -
Looking for any hand held lamp at a reasonable price. With or without a battery. Needed for 22lr and 17hmr shooting. Dont need scope mounted LED torches. Pm me with price/pictures. Dont mind paying postage.
-
What scope was it mate? Oh only a simmons whitetail 4-12X40. Nothing too expensive. Was one of my first scopes that got moved from air rifle to air rifle, and then onto my rimmie. Was due to upgrade anyway.

My step dad once dropped my entire rifle when I was handing it to him. Dented the metal tube and all of the glass frosted up so you couldn't see through it. Fortunatly he paid for the replacement.

After a striker lamp with or without battery and charger. Happy to pay postage. Want pics first, also want a price. PM me.

Down bunny lane, 5th left then 2nd right? That was the best day I've had all season. 43 if I remember right. Really enjoyable aswell, good crack with Jim. But had plenty of good days local getting 6s and 7s. Couple of double figures and the odd 20 or so not too far away Some good looking game carriers you got in some of those pics. Where'd ya get them? Suprised you've even had a season mate. I'm on the Thames and all my land is under water! I have ferreted a grand total of 0 rabbits in Oxfordshire this season, had to make up with the shooting. Bit of a bugger!

Interview Gone Bad.......
Bunny Boiler replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Call BASC now mate. They can offer sound advise on what legal leg he stands. As far as I am aware, speeding offences are irrelevant to an application, provided you declare them. If he didn't declare, that may cause issues. -

Gun Protection When Out In Rain????
Bunny Boiler replied to GEOFF.223's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I assume you take a 10 minute coffee break during this? If not, take one and whilst on it, give the rifle a quick wipe down and re-oil? Problem solved, no mess, good gun care. As said above. Avoid wax, and good oil - if the wax isn't completely tight to the barrel, you may find that it traps moisture underneath between wax and barrel, or if there is a small amount of condesation when applying that you trap it there. This would just worsen your problem. Oil is the way to go. -

Brilliant for lamping on foot if you dont mind the mud. Lots of rabbits on the ground for me. Just difficult to walk over the fields. If theres a bit of frost to slightly firm it up and stop it clogging together or sinking as you walk, it's a dream. Ferreting is a goner. My burrows are all underwater to the mouth of the holes.
