If you've seen a vet and are doing as he suggests, then stick at it. If you havent seen him, i recommend going ASAP. In my exprience, ferrets either become lively again very fast, or get worse very fast, there is no slow period, so if you want to be very caring, you do what Jai (Ideation) did and check up on her every few hours, even the small hours of the morning. Also, if you find one of my posts on his topic about distemper, and check those signs so you can rule it out, just for the saftey of the other ferrets/dogs you own. Hope your sitution gets better. Atb, BB

Not sure about the shooting mate, will keep my ears to the ground... atb, BB -
It's strange... I'm having a very good season so far. Always been in double figures (usually 20+) apart from once, when I only went out for a few hours. I have however picked up ALOT of permission for this season. You guys need to ask around a bit more I think Hope it picks up, Atb, BB

a couple of new comlete rabbit snares free to young hunter
Bunny Boiler replied to foxtails's topic in Young Hunters Talk
How much is postage mate? I have some land that isn't shootable (or ferretable because of the blackberry bushes that the warrens are under) but has a fair amount of rabbits on. Would be interested in snaring as I've only ever tried it with an one of my old game keepers a few times. Cheers, BB -
I used pillow cases too. If you cut the pillow case open, you can either have one very large hammock, or cut it into half for 2 hammocks.

Just to cover, to buy or to take? I have one that is 31.5 miles by google maps from RG41 to OX4.

Managed to get a weekend organised up with my dad and a few lads off here.. Had a cracking day! 34 rabbits total. Will get some end of Day shots up when I get a minute. Cheers to Lee81 off here and his brother for coming, and a thanks to Derbylad1 for helping out from Lunch onwards. A brilliant weekend for me with 2 personal bests for me being broken, 34 rabbits, breaking my previous of 32, and my deepest dig to a ferret of just under 6 foot, where as my previous was a meagre 3 ft in almost pure sand. Wish I got a pic of me in the hole to be honest. Top day, and hopefully we'll have more like

Been reading this intently mate. I'm on the edge of my seat. Never had a ferret catch something like this before. Let me know how she's getting on. Hope she pulls through. Atb, BB

You're using an ancient Army surplus shovel. Mine is an army collapsible. And it has a swivel top, instead of a screw piece to lock it tight. Serated edge on one side makes light work of tree roots that a standard spade wouldn't. I bought mine for 2 quid. Best 2 pounds I ever spent.

Are you sure it's Pneumonia? Any other ferret owners in your area with similar symptoms? Could be Canine Distemper. Vomiting and seizures/fits or shivering are all signs. Check for any more of the following: Discharge from eyes - generally foul smelling, yellow or green Swelling, rashes and thick brown crusts on the chin, lips, and nose Severe lethargy High fever Loss of appetite Drooling Dehydration Coughing Hardened, thick paw pads and swollen feet Crusting and redness in the abdominal and anal areas Muscular tremors Seizures Vomiting and diarrhea may occur, but are less commo

As title says, there is an opportunity to get out with me tomorrow as I have nobody to go with. Will do it by myself if nobody can take up on the offer, but I will only be doing rabbits tomorrow. The offer to do ratting is open to arrange. Let me know. Land has not been ferreted before, and its on an organic farm. Cheers guys.

Is 14 weeks too young to work ferrets
Bunny Boiler replied to pmatty77's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
Make sure you ease them in with some older ferts too. But yeh, as said, 6 months is a good age. I would have also thought that size is an issue. If they're big ferrets, starting them that little bit earlier shouldn't be too much of an issue, when worked with more experienced ferts. atb, BB -
I have most of my nets from JBS, and although, and I know for fact already, people will say they are shite, as long as you get the heavier nets, they are pretty decent. I personally have the 10z 3"6' nets. They come in good colours (Blue, Yellow, Red) so they can be easily seen, but you don't get to pick. They're a decent price too, as long as you buy a good amount (due to postage being the same if you buy 10 or 100 nets). They purse very well, and rarely tangle IMHO. I recommend them alot. Atb, BB

free working jills and equipment
Bunny Boiler replied to danny24011988's topic in Optics and Night Vision
Can vouch for these Jills. Very good workers, bolted plenty today. Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy yourself today mate. I suppose it isn't for everyone. If you ever change your mind, gimme a shout again. -
I personally only have a bike for transport. I do the same mate. Just make sure you have a strap round you, so if they come loose, they dont drop off the back. Mine seem fine with it. Atb, BB

Bunny Boiler replied to Bunny Boiler's topic in Ferreting
Have asked someone to drop me a text lads. If he bails, I will most certainly pick the next person I feel is suitable. -
Right lads, unusual offer. Looking for a buddy, preferably on their own that has their own equipment. I have acquired what is said to be a rather decent amount of land that is wanted rid of rabbits in between Nantwich and Tarpoly, in Cheshire. I will be bringing my equipment, but we ideally need to make use of a few long nets. The key however, is that dogs are NOT allowed. So. What is on offer? Hopefully 2 full days ferreting (A Saturday and Sunday). A very decent bag of rabbits from a never hunted resource. A pint at the end of the day. What we ask is that anyone who joins us: Has
