Personal preference mate. You really are best off stop asking and to actually experience it. Plenty of lads on here would be willing to give you a few days out and show you the ropes, explain what is what and their own preferences, etc. Then you can make informed decisions.

Ferrets are lactose intollerant. So yes, no milk! Cows milk anyway. Also, they love to play, and will spend the warmer days laying around, so make sure to give them a hammock if you can. They love them! Never pull a tic off, or burn it or use any remedy that is suggested by idiots. You can use things like frontline on ferrets and the tic will drop off on its own. Also, a bit of advice is to trawl through the past few months threads on here and read peoples suggestions on particular topics. Saves everyone else repeating themselves and you might discover things that might never even occur to you

Very broad question. A few tips on KEEPING ferrets is to get experience with someone who already owns them before getting any yourself. Also. Get out and experience different types of ferreting with someone who knows what they are doing (purse netting, long netting, dogs etc.). Also. Ask if you're unsure. Atb, BB

I understand that, but in this post you make look like you want to live catch here, even though you are already using other methods. I thought you were wanting to add live catching to this piece of land also?

Keep the net tight to the hedge and run it the length. Stand away from the net and if you have dogs, get them in the hedge to push the rabbots out. Also, if its a defunct hedge (a few meters of hedgerow with a gap then a few more meters and so on) then you could put some stop nets in (small long nets that are about 1-2 meters) wide to stop them running the hedge length.

Whats your reasoning for wanting live ones if you are shooting and snaring them too? Just get some ferreters or lamping on there if you're pest controlling it.

Looking on my phone, so cant see. Where are you located bud?

would it harm you if you ate it? No. It wouldnt, but I wouldn't eat it in the furthest stages of Myxi. They lose weight etc. Making it impossible to eat them anyway. If you see it has myxi, kill it and leave it for the fox. Then shoot the fox. I personally wouldn't even gut a myxi. Not worth the time.

Yeah. I know. They'll be nice warm. Dont you worry about that!

Also, me mam has the whole "stinker" stigma and doesn't believe they won't smell, and so wouldn't let me anyway! Aha.
-
You say this but I personally think they are unfairly labelled (I prefer the domestic name of Carpet Shark) The Hobs smell in season, obviously, but Jills and out of season hobs are not noticable if kept clean and have a decent diet I have found. Also I think numbers will affect it. I have two small jills, not a pack of ferrets, so am tempted to bring mine into my bedroom (living with me mam at the current time) as I quite like playing and being with them. It would seem you have already made your mind up ??? Personally for me no I wouldnt , if you have room in the garage why not keep em

So, i have just acquired two rather large indoor cages that are actually designed for rats (but are huge!) and I am going to join them together to make one huge cage (which can be made back into two cages for when the time comes). Now i was going to store them in the garage, which is nice and protected from wind and rain, but it got me thinking. Who else has got a similar situation and has anyone every kept their WORKING ferrets inside? (obviously I am aware some people do keep them as pets etc.) And if you do, do they make a smell in the house? I find out doors in the current hutch mine dont

We had a little play with one at college and they're f*****g hilarious. Dont think it really does a lot in the way of vermin control though... We managed to break ours by making the 'controlled explosion' a little less controlled though. Pmsl.

Mmmm. I think I would have to see it to believe it I guess. I'm not saying he didn't, just I think it may be a case of where in the country you are, what the land is like, etc. I'd be lucky to get 4 in a stop end, 16 would be incredible. But then, 20 is a good day out for me, but is only mediocre for some in the dales. Atb, BB

Oh, and FYI, the university of common Scence doesn't exist. However, the university of common sense may do.

Is this in response to your topic labelled "Lol" being removed along with your link being removed? I was going to post this on "Lol" but it was removed while I was typing it, so here ya go. "Having a whinge again, Logun? Quite a few topics like this lately from you. Fairly certain this one will be removed too mate. It's in the wrong section again. It has no input towards snaring or trapping does it. You don't help yourself some times. You just seem insistent on becoming a keyboard warrior who wants to make enemies. If this website is such a joke, then why waste your time venturing onto it and
