Some say olive oil works. Put a dab of it on the back of you hand and let him lick it off. Similar principal to the spit suggestion I guess. I've never needed to try it though. If you're worried, let him lick it through the bars first I guess. They all come round though. Atb, BB

I'm sure your a bit curious,.....canny blame ye!!... Could be a paracord game carrier boom when the others see this one off design............might make him a fortune but obviously we will need to talk percentages .... The only thing im a bit curious is how the ginger ninja pulled a bird from Kinross Aren't they all Ginger in that direction?

Good job I read this bit. Washing Stinkers on a regular basis (like some who keep them as pets) actually makes their overall hygiene worse. It cleans the hair of natural oils which makes them produce even more than when you dont wash them. Makes them more smelly and their skin can become irritated. But, like I said. Glad I read you only wash them once!

Any CZ recommendations? Been looking at a BRNO, purely because someone on here is selling one. -
Ah. Bit too far for me bud.
-
Where you based bud? Cant see on my phone. Are they all linked?
-
Your right mate still alot of cover about got asked to move some rabbits out of a spinney Sunday night had a look round but even with the shotguns it will be hard work and i cant be arsed to snare and trap them so passed the permission on to a lad whos just starting out. We will have to get a day out this season mate. Atb Yeh bud. Sure I've got your number somewhere. My old man has been out in chester and spoke to a friend near warrington and they've had some good numbers and the cover is thinning. Goes to show what a difference it makes to be 150 miles north.

Got a few mates up north country that have been out and had good days. I havent been out this end yet Fitchet. Greenery is all still too high for my liking. Seen a few smaller rabbits out on the lamp too, so would rather let them bulk out a bit. If the cold mornings carry on, I might be out in 3-4 weeks.

Rifle Recommendations
Bunny Boiler replied to Bunny Boiler's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Is it better to buy new or S/H? Been looking on Guntrader and there isn't too much decent in Ruger around me. Like I said, would prefer a Synthetic stock, although I am warming to the idea of furniture. -
Would you be willing to wait a few weeks until my cert comes through?
-
I have recently applied for my first firearms and my local firearms officer came round today and told me it was all sorted and to expect my cert in the next 3-4 weeks. I have been granted .22 Rimfire (and possibly .17 but he didn't specify). I need a good lamping rifle, and have been shooting with a Ruger 10/22. I quite like the semi auto, but what would you guys recommend, taking into account that my budget for the rifle alone is about £300, or around £500 with accessories (scope, lamp, bipod, mod etc). I would say that I would only buy synthetic stock however, for personal preference.

And this was all at the same time, so game over lads! He wins!

Aye. I've been bitten on the back of the hand. They do bleed like hell. No massive damage though. No infection. As The One said. Stay on top of your tetanus.

I like to think Brian Blessed does to badgers as Ozzie Osborne did to bats.
-
I'm not saying don't kill them! I'm saying that for controlling TB there is never going to be a perfect solution. If there was no TB and you were killing to prevent damage caused by the fuckers, just wipe them out as you wish! They become giant rabbits at that point (bit more aggressive though...). This post was in relation to TB and the cattle involved. Atb, BB

You are right in a sense. But badgers are social family orientated animals. If amateurs start hammering badgers and not killing the whole family in a sett, you risk those badgers being displaced which, assuming these badgers even had TB, would cause them to increase the likeliness of them passing it cattle or even more badgers. Not saying you're wrong, just that there are draw backs to any method. the fact they are family orientated makes culling a far easier task than if they were solitary Thats if you dig them, but even then, you need to dig the entire set up because they live in chambers

As above mate. Pesties are a lot like keepers. Get the experience first unless you go commercial, but even then it will be different. With commercial you may find yourself on a schedule checking restaurants regularly, whereas a self made pestie might do more moles. But again, experience is experience. If you have the money, you could put yourself on the BPCA residential courses. Atb, BB

I use horse shavings too. 10 quid for a 4x1x1 ft bale. Lasts me months. The pieces are a bit bigger, but no dust or problems. Try a local equine store or such. Atb, BB

feck, duly noted bosun. I don't like leaving to much meat/carcass in this time of year. flies doing my tits in as it is lol. I tend to cut it up. I hack mine up and freeze it. No point being careful, just get the axe/cleaver out and bang it into pieces. Just remove livers first and keep them in a box. I then feed them that once a week or so. Mine dont tend to eat bones, but will do eggs shells, so I throw any small eggs my hens lay in too when I give them dry food. Wettens the food and gives them calcium in the shells. You cant over do it if you mix it up most of the time. Atb, BB
