I was listening to a discussion in the pub about ye old fox dogs and which one was best and why JRt were not suitable.
During this I heard that JRT were not suitable as they were not stockey enough to block the hole and their heads were the wrong shape as the fox could grab hole, and if a JRT was entered then they may get a bit of abuse, and end up with big vet bills.
now I though that JRTs were origianally used for that job.
They proceeded to say that patterdales and borders are more suitable for the jobs, due to their stockier build and their heads?
