  1. a few things i have learnt ,1 is start low on powders and work up 2 seat bullet kissing the lands and work out 3 less powder the heavier the bullet is ,keep checking the primers for a pressure ridge ,not always but some times it will show you are going to hot a load ,so back it off a bit .each rifle is differant in its ammo needs ..ridge in the pic is bit over the top but you get the idea
  2. if your mad about your shooting you have got to go down the reloading road ,i did and its very easy to do ,cost of a bullet done is about a 1/3 of the price you will shoot more bullets off though ..but thats a good thing aint it i pay about £11.50 for the hmr
  3. i have the nxs nightforce 8-32x56 np2dd ret best money i ever spent .spotting a rabbits head out to 500yrds is easy ,hitting it is another thing you cant hit what you cant see ..just turn your power down to 12x or 14xmag at night ..
  4. I HAVE THE NXS NIGHTFORCE 8-32X 56 they are the bollox shooting is so much easy`er best money i ever spent ,shooting stuff out to 300 to 400 yrds is a piece of piss ..if you dont take my word for it get your self down to my town and i will show you how its done ..
  5. how much land has this farmer ,and most of all whats on it ?? and have you seen the stuff on it dont just take his word for it do a walk round the place and if its not lifting with stuff dont pay for it ..work out if it has say 200hundred rabbits on the place 20 hares loads of pigeon and crow foxs ect may be the odd deer then it will be worth paying for it ..maybe £300 to £600 pound a yr for a place like that ,but if some body else gets it before you do you could be booted off the place as he has the shooting rights and you dont so it could well be tat tar for you .but haveing a place like
  6. i think the .223 is a good starting out rifle ,plenty of cheep ammo to play with but you only need the one type ,so once you have found what suits your rifle stick with it and stock up on it ,i load my own its not hard once you know how, in fact i like doing it .im turning in to a geek you will be paying £23.00 a box for the .204 factory ammo but lets break that down ..£1.15 pr shot not bad for saying you have just shoot a fox with it and its not like im going to be useing more than five pounds worth in a night and if i did i would be having one hell of a night so it would be worth the fi
  7. both mine got a visit of the feo but they were fine over it ,they even rang the farmer land owner to see if i had the right to go on deer shooting ect ..which i had ..that was for a firearm ,,you dont need land for a shotgun just some where to shoot it like a club ect ..
  8. asking the police if its a good idea if you can have a rifle he will say no
  9. sounds to me you were homeloading and did not find that perfect round for you rifle or you were useing shitty rounds that did not suit your rifle which one was it ...what rifle did you have ???
  10. it a long range rifle and the police dont really want any body having one unless you have a few yrs under your belt ..id love one my self but to ask for one and get it is another thing .. lets put it this way if you were good enough you could drop stuff out at 1200yrds
  11. i used the 223 for five yrs good round but no where near as nice to shoot as the .204 or .20 to them that know ..223 is crap ,yeah crap dare i say it for fox shooting yes you will leave big holes in foxs useing the .223 .but foxs come out at night most of the time and you dont get a lot of time to start dailing in the drop so you need a fast flat flying round out to 300 yrds 4".7 drop useing factory rounds so thats 4225fps out of a 26" barrel .so if you see a fox out a fair way you could just aim at the spine letting the bullet drop in to the fox to kill it out to 325yrds and you will hit it .
  12. .243 is a very good round but its heavy on the meat damage ,good for fox and deer but theres better cal if its just for deer. 25-06 .270 6.5 308 30-06 and the 7mm which you wont get but its about the best ,the 30-06 will take any thing we can throw at it in this country a beast of a round not for first timers i think ,good if your going abroad shooting, .308 is a good round shoots well plus plenty of differant ammo to play with and plenty of rifles to buy second hand going cheep. the .270 will do the job very well , 6.5 is a very good round its the one i would go for if i did not have the 25-

  14. I THINK THEY DO ONE FOR THE NIGHTFORCE SCOPE THAT WILL FIT YOURS
  15. you only need to go 50 to 55grn in .223 for fox dont know the law on small deer though if you can use that weight bullet on them ?
  16. if it says 10x it means it will look 10 times closer than it realy is ..id go for a 4-16x56 and set the scope and rifle up so its hitting bang on at 65 or even 70 yrds on a carm day and if your any good you should be grouping about 1" to 1 1/2 at 70yrds with a slight wind ..a AGS /VIPER/ SCOPE WILL DO YOU WELL . TARGETS should look like this or better at 70yrds
