the hunting life rules lads it only counts if your dog kill dec jan thats 8 weeks out of the year, you have to run eng on a regular basis which i presume is once a month in winter plus your dog has to have at least half english breeding to be good, and it has to run for 6 seasons, and you have to show them to load of strangers, now lads onless im missing sumting how many lads in ireland do this??? these are not my words its whats been written on here all the time,

lads if ye take ye time and go back true my posts will ye plz point out to me where iv knocked english dogs or english lads for that matter??? as banter said most people in ireland dont bother going to england for 1 reason or another so that means there dogs not tested, mucky paws the father of my bitch came from england iv absalute no problem with english dogs or men my uncle hunted in england for years he said he had mighty hunting and some real good sports men over there,

never knocked across the pond or never knocked john either you have to give john credit for the amount of travelling his does thats pure dedication, kc iv already said iv never hunted in england so i cant comment from personal experance, what im saying is there is plenty of people in ireland that just couldnt or wouldnt bother going to england for what ever reason so does that mean there never know if there dogs is any good??? it be like saying the englise lads wont know if there dogs any good unless they come over to ireland on a regular basis before they can test there dogs???

that being the case any man with a good dog in ireland thats tied up with young family or full time job or that just couldnt afford the expence of travelling to england will never know weather there is any good or not i think is madness in my opinion plenty of good places in ireland to test your dog, so think we have to agree to disagree on this 1 john

no dought mucky paws ye have good dogs and as i said there plenty of dogs in ireland with good english breeding but surely not all english dogs are good as not every irish dog is good, all breeding starts somewhere weather its england or ireland there is good dogs in both countrys

also like to add that im very sure there has been plenty of irish dogs that went to eng and couldnt hack it but the same could be said if the english lads came over here more often maby a lot of there dogs wouldnt hack ireland, there is plenty of good english breeding here in ireland and iv no dought they very good dogs but to say a dog has to have english blood to be a good 1 is crazy, where did the saluki come from??? it sure didnt come from ire or eng so maby we should be saying that a dog has to have south arabia blood to be good?? ps was just thinking there i was speaking to t.m a while b

first of all john i never said eng hares or dogs no good, you say the best dogs in ireland has eng blood in them, who has the best dogs in ireland?? because to be fair every man fancys his own dogs so thats very debateable in my opinion, secondly your right iv never hunted eng so i cant say which hares are better but there is a good few men from ireland that hunt england and each and every 1 of them say that you get good hares in both places so it seems your the only person that thinks that hares better in eng, your right about land being bigger in england but in saying that there is some grea

cant understand all this thing about england iv spoken c.m and p.k who are both in there 60s and 70s thats hunted england and they say that the hares in kildare and carlow louth are as good as you get anywhere so why would have to go to england to prove yourself or your dog??? that makes no sence to me, if a dog is brought out hunting twice a week from oct till end of feb all over ireland and kills hares on a regular basis then its a good dog in my opinion

speedie to be fair years ago most people hunted for the pot my father included so it was understandable that they doubled up there dogs and the time of year wasnt a big thing because there was mouths to feed, but now thats long changed as most people only hunt for sport so why double these dogs up? surely thats not sport and why hunt wrong time of year? again surely thats not sport? now haveing that said accidents happen and 2 dogs will end up on a hare from time to time but not all the time, im no expert but i think if everyone ran there dogs single and at the right time of year there would b

very true mucky paws thats the main reason that land is gone hot all the break ins, people are genuinely afraid to let any 1 on there land, the only problem is we all fall in for it

ya the hares in galway can move at right time year, but they getting scarce now because of summer hunting and dogs being doubled up in august sep oct its a shame, i had some great days with the old pookey donavan may he rest in peace

in saying that banter iv never seen any of the other 1s running only seen the 2 i had, but the lads that got the others still have them so they must be happy enough with them, iv got a few clips here il try to get a lad i know to put them up

as i said already lads the bringle bitch didnt work out she was ruined before she got started, there was 6 pups in that litter and 5 of them worked out, and as banter said its hard to get a good first cross some come 2 much like the greyhound, i got lucky with the 1 i keeped she came just right in my opinion, thanks again lads for all the good comments il try to get a few clips up soon
