this is my show. i hope for a good turnout. i did dabble with hybrid crosses but after my hutches got burnt i decided not to pursue dat line of breeding. the show last year was good i thought. the turnout was disapointing but i hope to improve this year. bailey....who are you, i dont know what your talking about. i am not a ferret peddlar, i havent sold many kits and think that just becaus i sold a few doesnt make me a peddlar. i will be donating money to bathgate ferret rescue from this show. i hope to see some of yous there. 11th august, cochrane hall in alva. 12-3 any detail

what is your opinion on what defines a working dog? how many times would the dog have to be out working, how successfull would it have to be and how long will it have to be? what i am generally asking is: if a guy has a dog, out 6 nights a week lamping all quarry and catching most, daytime ferreting marking and catching bolters successfully.... then somebody has a dog, out a few times a month ferreting, marking to a reasonable standard and the odd few times a year lamping and doesnt have a very high catch rate...... THEYRE BOTH WORKING DOGS RIGHT? or do you see it different

Does anybody have a cheap lamp for sale? The boy wanted a lamp for Xmas so I said I would get Him one. He came to me today with £40 he saved up to buy his own. I'll put £20 to that, that he won't know about. So got £60 to spend. After a lamp kit. Nothing fancy just if anybody has an old one they don't use etc. Thanks.

What lamp do you guys suggest for a beginner? My grandson is just getting into the sport and wants a lamp for himself. The lamp I have now I have had for years and is a mix and match of a few different lamp/batteries that I had. I'm not upto date with what's good out there at the minute. So what's the best lamp/ battery and charger for the money for me to get him? Cheapest etc and any links. Cheers. Faith be with you.

What's fishy is the space Between your ears

Any sighthound/ lurcher will chase game. It's bred into them from before you And I was born. If you have the Basic mix/ breed then that's your mixture, all you have to do it put them Together and make the pie

Who on here makes collars? Thought we could get a post going with everybody who makes collars and pictures of their goods. Thinking about getting the dog a collar after all these years but found it hard to find people that make them on here. Only by chance did I see one Or two posting pics etc. Thought it could be a 1 stop post for anybody looking for a collar and collar makers to advertise. Maybe mods could pin it too. Thanks Guys.

Like I said. Was linford Christies kids Olympic Champions? Was Muhammad ali's kids boxing world champions? Or George best, is his son a top Football player? Good parents might increase your chances by 5% but it's the owner who Makes the dog.

No. Aslong as it runs I couldn't give a fcuk if it came from fecking Zimbabwe. With a sighthound or lurcher you have the basic Product, the right mix so you can mould it into what you want.

Brilliant photos. Some cracking dogs. Anubis where is the Collar from in 2nd to Last pic? Strongstuff, aren't they mallys dogs? Just another chance for advertisement lol great collars by the way. How much? Got a terrier here, never had a collar on her. What would do you rekon? -
Whin/ whine. Your a laugh. Just seen on another thread you charge people to take them out! How much do you charge for that then? You must be the best dogman in britain to think so highly of Yourself! Yeah you increase the chances of getting a good worker by getting from proven stock But it's not the be all and end all. Bet there's some dogs from pet parents and dogs from frowned upon places that would put your dogs to shame and run them into the ground. You Think you've got fecking coursing champions in your kennels. Harping on about your morals, sticking to what You know but t

Looking For A Knife £30-40quid
k.andy12345 replied to jessythewhippet's topic in Countryside Skills, Craft & DIY
For the rabbits and the like I use a knife a bought from a gamefayre a few year ago. It only cost £10, sharp as feck and does the job. Can't remember the name, got it from the knife stall, it's bright orange and in a plastic sheath. Really good knives -
What do you think is the best option for your dogs. Given the choice of either which one would you prefer? I keep mine outside due to the fact that it's a lot easier to clean them and the fact im working all day. Sometimes I take one of the dogs to work with me and they sit in the office but that means leaving the other alone so I tend not to do that anymore. Also after a day/ nights graft they don't have to be bathed and dried etc to come into the house. What's the situation with you guys. Pros and cons to both?
