    Hi, I'm not a perfectionist in jackdaw trapping, but as I heard, dead rabbits (one or 2), eggs (at least 2 nests, each with at least 2 eggs), bread (the broked-off edge of whire bread) and corn are nice baits. If you baits the near of the trap, and put out a line from food through the funnel, you should catch them. I think the call bird is a nice idea. If they can't get out, they usualy lures in the birds. And for the rabbits, I would set 2-3 snares inside the trap, that can solve the problem

    you must get diffferent foxes where you live then, as all the foxes that I trap and cull, lay down in the cage like a cat or dog would awaiting release, Ive never had one acting the way you describe spot on stubby,a caged fox just lays thier,many years ago i caught a fox in a trap and for some reason i had no time to drive it my land a shotgun it,so i put a old airgun in its ear and it dropped stone dead,now i dont recomend it but if the angle is right it dont suffer.prob get in trouble using a firearm in the garden.double or treble strand elec fence may be the better option.     No one threw a baseball to my head so far, so I can't realy take point. As I calculated, 2200 grain is about 15dgk, it is possibly not as powerful as a .30-06, but can surely kill a rabbit.

    I never said, they are sub. 12 fpe airguns, but these kills are not made from 10 cm, but from 20-50m I think. I saw people shhoting foxes from 20-30 cm with a (!) sub. 7.5J (!) airgun, and the fox drops instantly and immediatly. If u never tried dispatching a fox with an airgun, pls don't try to argue about "why it is unethical, to kill a fox with an air rifle"! If anyone thinks 0.001 second is too long suffering for an animal, then (it is yus my oppinion, but) f...k off! The minimal power, neseceary to kill a fox is about 0.12 on the Taylor KO value.     If I were you, I would simply dispatch the fox with the air rifle, even a 11fpe .177 has enough power to kill a humane from 3-5m. From 10 cm, you can't miss, and the fox should die immediatly, I mean under 0,001second. I saw people shootinh wild hogs with hi-powered .22 airguns, so I think a fox is not an big opponent for an airgun.

    Thanks. I'll try this jam and fruit thing. I rarely gets the opportunity to see one, as they are hiding most of the time. I thihk I saw 3 of them in the last 2 years, but I can find broken egg shells, sometimes bounches of fearhers, so they are working busily during the nights.

    Thx. I doesen't know the correct english name of them, they are similar to a pine marten, but they has white fur on their chest/neck, instead of yellow, this is the biggest difference between them. Thanks for the tip. I've tried chicken meat in the first days, but the animal triggered the trap from outside, I've run out of chicken and forgot to buy an annother one, but I think I'll visit the butcher soon Oh, and what scent should I use? I'm making something like fish-oil (fish+used cooking oil), is it good for martens, or should I try something else?

    Hello! I have a problem with martens here, in Hungary. They are everywhere around here, in the city, they used my attic as a toilet for a few years, and now, they moved inside our car, killed thy neighbours chickens, etc. I'm trying to trap them with cage traps (unfortunatly, it is illegal here to use killing type traps like conibears) so I made a wooden, double-door box trap, a cage trap, and I even bought a double-entry cage trap. In the last two months, I've caught 8 hedgehogs and 7 cats, but the martens were smarter than me again so I'm asking for help now. I've tried eggs, bacon, sausage
