  1. My dad insisted that Haith's seed was the best to be had and would travel miles to get his. I can't remember the brand of soft food he used but i can remember the smell, and if i was to smell it again it would take me straight back to my dad's bird shed.
  2. I miss the sound of the birds and all the different smells like the soft food, shavings and the funny smell of the carophyl red colour feed in the water
  3. I think red eyes in canaries is usually a sign of cinnamon colouring but I could be wrong.
  4. I don't know about a cur but mine can be a cnut.
  5. I thought it was a pregnancy test
  6. A small price to pay for a bit of permission. If she threw in the pheasants as well there might be a tongue involved.
  7. I have often wondered about Catahoula Leopard dogs from the states, they breed merle to merle and seem to get away with it or rather you don't hear much about it.
  8. A can of Ben Shaw's shandy and i'm anybodys. Two and i'm everybodys.
  9. To be honest i think my dogs would probably have got stuck in, seals aren't really something i've considered stock breaking them to.
  10. Nice looking dog. Got a better jacket than a pure whippet and I imagine a thicker, tougher skin.
  11. Very sad to hear, one of my favourite boxers. RIP.
  12. My dad used to paint his sheds and fences every year with a mixture of creosote and used engine oil. A testament to this is his chicken shed belonged to his grandfather and my dad was still using it when he died at 78. As Henry Ford said though, " you can have any colour you like as long as it's black ".
  13. Good going, golf course rabbits always seem to have turbos strapped to their arses.
  14. I once dreamt i was eating a giant marshmallow. When i woke up the pillow was gone.
  15. I like the look of plummers, especially the early smaller type but i can't help thinking to myself why re-invent the wheel when Russells have filled the role?
  16. I have only had one whippet. She was bright as a button, driven, lots of heart and punched well above her weight. She never suffered with any foot problems, which i put down to her being quite lightly built and her acceleration was incredible. Her biggest problem was her skin was like a peach and she was forever splitting the end of her tail which always bled profusely. I will be looking at getting another whippet type dog in the future if i could get one with a thicker skin. It might just have been her though and other whippets don't have a problem but it put me off them a little bit.
  17. Two OAP's were enjoying oral sex. The old man says " i can't stay down here for long, it stinks. " The old lady says " Sorry, that's my arthritis " " In your fanny? " says the old man. The old lady says " no, in my shoulder, i can't wipe my arse "
  18. The model would have a very hairy chest if they used my arse for the picture.
  19. And WTF is it with the dangling balls? one minute they are all tucked up and the next you are soaping them in the shower next to your knees. It seems to happen all of a sudden.
  20. I don't think you actually lose any hair as you get older, it just re-roots itself in different parts of your body, I.E: nose, ears, back etc.
  21. A friend and myself saw one crossing a field between two small woods near Huntingdon thirty odd years ago, no one believed us either.
  22. It's the same here on the Lincolnshire / Cambridgeshire border. Never saw a bird of prey unless it was a Kestrel but now we have buzzards, red kites and peregrines. You were lucky to see a magpie 40 years ago as well.
  23. I wish we had that many to go at. Good do.
  24. Perhaps i've read it wrong but if the dogs only faults are brought about because they haven't done enough but are otherwise working well then maybe you should take a chance and breed from them. At least you know their faults, how they work and the history behind them. If you bought a pup bred from the best dogs ever to grace the field they still don't come with a guarantee and the owners of the parents might have a different idea of what a good dog is. If both your dogs work within reason I think it might be worth a gamble.
