  1. Thanks for your time, Ok but I was not on about dogs overshooting or hare jinking etc. but not too worry its all getting beyond me.
  2. I already did, that why I said you either don't or cannot read. But life is far to short to argue the toss on here. One question I have to ask oh wise one. In nearly all the dog runs Ive seen, where the dog is slipped, regardless greyhound, Salukis and crosses, the dog catches up to the hare in no uncertain terms, but the hare always accelerates away, why is that possible from an animal thats slower than the dog.?
  3. Ok I will ask you one. when we were young bucks, would we have found time for this nonsense?
  4. Its that long ago I cannot remember it, I think third leg fell of on the stumps one morn.
  5. Aye I know all about them things, my family in both Derbyshire and Hampshire still keep whippets. However none nowhere near the stamp of dog in my photos.
  6. Some roe are harder to take than other, quite canny dangerous things really. Run flat out on four legs and kick like hell with tother
  7. Perhaps these have no greyhound in them, maybe they're whipets of somut !
  8. I know I'm old, but I refuse to accept it, talk about it and honestly if someone asks me my age I need to work it out, but some of that is anger at the shear cheek.
  9. your quite correct most of the shit heads came over here to claim benefits and poach our fish etc, something they couldn't get away with back home.
  10. Firstly let me state that I have always like the herding dog crossbreeds, even for hares. But I have owned Pure saluki dogs and I have imported them from the middle east back in the 70s. Let me state here and now for the doubters that pure salukis have coursed and caught Fallow[Hampshire] Sika[Dorset] and Fallow, Red in Norfolk/Suffolk. In the day! They have also done the Red deer on Scottish moors at night in 1990/91. I just don't get where people get these silly ideas from on what's been done or hasn't.
  11. Sorry but you are mistaken, I will explain why in my next post.
  12. Phil you are right,Roe deer are great sport with dogs and greyhound are super for the job. For Fallow and even bigger game you need EITHER real power house dogs, or clever dogs, if you get both in one your doing ok. As for running dogs in Europe, well in Poland its a no go as you will get a hiding and banged up.
  13. I am quite sure you would be wrong. In Poland the Police take a dim view of poachers and are most likely of breaking a few bones and a few more if bribery is tried, thats before the get you patched up to take you before the judge, who in most cases you will find is part of the local hunting wheel. As for the amounts of game, well your right about roe, about the same per 100 hectares as here, but reds are across the whole country as a Fallow, Mouflon, Pigs, and the predators are in far higher numbers, Marten, mink, fox, jackel, racoon, racoon dog, badger and all can legally be hunted.
  14. Get caught in Uk deliberately coursing deer and you will get a fine first time, second time a bigger fine. Do it in Eastern Europe and jail first time no messing, no excuses, no plea bargains etc. Only last month someone in Poland was caught using snares for boar, got five years, car and all hunting equipment taken as well. I would like to see how brave most UK hunters would be!?
  15. Not if you face 10 years behind bars for using a knife!
  16. f ing big beddy's where you are, I staying well away.
