  1. So, I must admit that I find it more than sad that a way of life I was born for has during my lifetime been eroded by well meaning but sadly misinformed politician's. I have always maintained that I was born a hunter, its in my blood and its my religion, at one time or another I have paid dearly for it, oh not just financially but mentally and physically. Yet despite my best efforts its- that is hunting shooting fishing etc- is slowly disappearing before my eyes. I feel sorry tha

  6. Phil when I lived in Walberswick there were a lot of lurcher there as well. I think the heavy head of game at the time made it worthwhile. Sadly when I go back there are very few rabbits if any, lots of hares though.
  7. They were brought here by fur breeders same as europe, there pelt were worth good money[nutria] They escaped in East Anglia, and caused mayhem digging everywhere in the level and relief channel banks. The Government through Maff at the time wanted them destroying and not only paid for it to be done but supplied traps etc. As for suitable quarry for dogs, well lurchers caught them very easily if they were in the open and terriers bolted them easy and killed them in purse nets. i never saw a terrier hurt by one.
  8. I never mentioned anyone else! what other did is not my business. The nonsense to me was digging them, I had spent 18 hours through the night digging only to let the badger go! for what? that was the straw that broke the camels back and i never when to the B&W again. At least when I put terrier to fox it was over quick and far more profitable.
  9. Silly man, you missed out on a lot because of you not wishing to travel.
  10. Year ago I used to dig badgers and release them as it was part of the licence I got. I stopped that nonsense after an 18 hour dig. In Poland and Germany they have Badger seasons and all animals are culled, as are raccoon and raccoon dog etc, pelts are worth money as is badger grease etc.
  11. A lot and perfectly legal.
  12. He was a present for a 16yo future hunter in Poland.
