    ive got a Lurcher x whippet pup thats 12 weeks old and i would like to take him out with some experienced dogs.Then he can learn from other dogs how to behave with other dogs and how he generally acts when out. after doing a lot of reading up the general jist of what im getting is just to let him be a pup and not work him too early which is fine, but i dont know of anyone with lurchers that would be willing to come for a mooch with me and my pooch so he can learn the ropes. Im from Lincolnshire just wondering if anyone is up for it? thanks

    Just got a quote from Tesco Pet insurance - 8.52 a month for standard cover or 13.58 for 'extra' cover - seems like small change compared to a couple of hundred quid for a simple procedure, i think i may get myself some cover

    helpful... its gonna take a while, a big bag of treats and lots on encouragement! the more you try and work with the dog the more it will get to know you and respect you. you need to show the dog that u are not going to hurt it and u need to build up trust. this will take a lot of patience though! once you have achieved this then you can start training it with the basics. i e sit, stay etc. ATB

    And that is where you went wrong................... Because every other day theres a piss take or a wind up on this site and you have to make up your own mind if its true or not. Now if the OP put a fox came running in quick close to the dog to get the rabbit then thats quite plausible....to say it was going to take it out its mouth is a bold statement.     i work as a doorman so i have quite a lot to do with the rozzers - they have this gizmo in their cars that will detect a bluetooth signal and send u a message. usualy this is used to publicize wanted people, and will have the mugshot and a brief description of a criminal a bit like crimewatch. They probably didnt realise they had this gizmo switched on and it acted as an early warning system for u! Lucky!

    ahh yes, i was thinking about heading that way myself, just for a walk around, my dog is far too young to be working atm and needs a strong mentor. are you up for a jaunt across some fields in the future?

    I beleive the climate in Lincs is uncommonly" warm" in the winter months. are we talking about the weather here? if thats the case then i certainly havnt noticed! if not i do have landowners permission?

    ahhhhh i should get my bloody terminology right! and ill keep him away from lure meetings too! thanks very much for ur help guys much appreciated, ill put some pics up soon see what u all think!
