Thank you to everyone for the replies. With regards to the potential sensitive nature of these dogs, I was under the beleif that is was a trait shared by a lot of sight hound and lurcher breeds anyway so it's something I've given a lot of consideration to, I'm a fairly laid bac person any way so I can't see it being a problem. I fancy a collie cross just because I've been told they are fairly easy to train and ideal for the first time owner, I'm not against other crosses, but thought this one would suit best. I've seen a few lurchers work and the one I liked the most was a lurcher

hi, I've finally been aloud by the wife to get a lurcher. It will be my first dog of any kind. I've decided on a collie grey but I'm unsure as to what percentage to go for. I prefer the look of racier dogs. I will be using the dog for ferreting, lamping, mooching etc. on a variety of land from fairly small fields to quite large ones. Any advice on what would best suite would be greatly appreciated.

the one serious problem you may find is that the saftey is on the right hand side of the trigger guard if its cross bolt and Im not sure how you would fair switching it on and off -

Hi, I have posted in the ferreting section but thought I would post here aswell. I need some help doing some of the bigger sets on one of my permissions. Looking for someone with experience and there own gear preferably as one of the reasons I can't do these larger sets myself is because I don't have enough nets and only one ferret. I'm going out on thursday so if you are available then let me know. Cheers.

Hi guys and gals, I need help with a couple of sets if theres anyone willing to oblige. There are a coupe of sets on my permission that are just too big for me, my one jill and 20 odd nets to cope with. I'm going to that farm on thursday so if you are available then let me know asap. The farm is to the south of birmingham, inbetween redditch and kings norton. Could do with someone who has experience, a lot of nets and a couple of ferrets to help. I bolted a 1/4 grown on saturday, I couldn't belive my eyes. It just hopped straight through the purse net without even disturbing it! Then bolted a doe on the next set that looked like she was about to drop any day.

Hi guys, I was wandering if there is anyone out there willing to teach me a little about ferreting. I live inbetween redditch and bromsgrove in worcestershire. I have a ferret, nets, finder and collar, just need someone to show me the ropes lol. Many thanks for your replies in advance.
