  1. HH, sometimes I have trouble choosing between right and wrong....it keeps me awake at night... "Problem" with the rabbits is that the population bounced back to normal levels in some area's but due to new roads and houses and fences they cannot reach some places where they were or suitable places where I like to see them. L
  2. thanks Nastki...that ladybird book is a cracker L
  3. For me, finding THL was like "coming out" ... I can say I enjoy dogs killing other animals and people don't call me a sadist or a pervert...there are others like me... But seriously, it is a great site and there is a lot to be learned and shared here. On an international level. Some good pictures too! It seriously helps to get through the boring work days I have at the moment. L
  4. It also seemed to me that snaring is too stressful...yep ferreting would be the best...and I already asked on a dutch ferret forum if people want to come with their ferret and help me out. But no positive respons from there...I would love to own a ferret and that would solve the problem but I am travelling a lot and I need to have big cages everywhere to put the ferret in. I know of a few areas where rabbits dissapeared (mixy, VHS or just chance) and some where rabbits are really plentiful...I'd like to see rabbits introduced for the effect they have on the vegetation L
  5. Dear all, Is it possible to snare rabbits alive so one can collect and move them? Could it be done with a "stopper" on the snare or is is so stressful that a rabbit will strangle itself anyway? Thanks Lennard
  6. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...ic=7620&hl= Maybe the link to the hearing still works. It is an example of how good and fast involvement blocked unjust and unnessecary law making... NOTE: FOR SOME REASON THE VERY GOOD http://www.stop2110.org/ DISAPPEARED ? L
  7. Well..I enjoyed his eloquent posts and wish him all the best... L
  8. Ehhh...anything that is fast enough and trained and entered properly. L
  9. At 25 I got my bitch (10 years ago) and 2.5 years ago I got my dog. L
  10. It's been asked before probably but I can't find...does anyone out there have any tips or good recepies for rabbits and hares on the barbecue? Is it necessary to marinade to get the meat tender or is it chewable with only roasting? L
  11. Welcome here! Your avatar reminds me of past "events"...nice. What is your taste of music? L

    Camo man?

I bet there are other people out there, like me. who are wondering if there is any news on Camo Man...any news on his achievements or any new pictures? L
  13. Sounds pretty normal for the UK. Welcome on the forum L
  14. Yeah I see it here too in rabbits from the dunes...it looks like yellow fat...the rabbits look normal otherwise... ? L
  15. Maybe this is not the proper subforum...but it is the best read dog section... tomorrow: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcone/listings/progr...0_4223_21064_60 L
  16. First...check if you can tune your life to a pup. Do you have an idea of the work and time involved to get a well socialized and trained dog. Get some good books and read around on the net. Some advice: be patient, calm and sweet. Don't hit it when it pisses you off. Smile when you step in dog pee for a few months. Get up early. Work on socializing, house breaking and being left alone from the first week. Don't overrun it or do things to early. L
  17. I would stay clear from hound crosses. Unless I would want a real hound to find and hunt game by nose a mix of longdog and hound would be too hard to train, not to use the nose, come back and be silent. For me...for other people it might be different. L
  18. Maybe yours won't but my bitch is much more disobedient/sneaky/absent when in heath. It is pretty bugging. However the weeks before and in the first week of swollen eh pussy she is faster then normal. L
  19. It seems that the prey drive is ok. But for those who have one, how are they to live with?...I know whippets who are "nervous" and also ones that are calm...I know one can't generalise but what is the temperament of your Mike Brown whippet?...with kids/cars, being left alone, was it easy to get housebroken if you keep it indoors? L
  20. Lovely. Perfect size, nice coat. L
  21. Nice sturdy dogs, useful looking, not too big. L
  22. Mine does every time after heath. Swelling of "boobs" and wants to dig in gardens and the furniture and stops eating when it takes too long...whole process takes 5 weeks or so for mine. Seems to get less with her age. L
  23. Could you explain to them foreigners on here what "getting the weesle (weasel?)" means?
