  1. There’s a difference between going deep and getting stuck. Every rescue I’ve been to in rocks has been terriers bred out of digging dogs used in rocks. Yes they will work them and bolt foxes but they’re an accident waiting to happen. A mate has some Black and Tan terriers line bred rock dogs if you try them in an earth and there’s a tight spot they won’t push or dig they’re out looking for a different way in. Proper rock dogs are a completey differnt animal to digging dogs used in rock
  2. Nearly everyone I know that word rock don’t work collars as there’s a good chance they’ll get hung up on them. The bitch you say never got seen again may have been an excellent rock dog and may have been able to get herself back from where she was and may have been there before she might have just got hung up that time
  3. If a dog follows a fox to a place in a pile where it can’t get back from it may be a good dog but is it a good rock dog?
  4. Ratface has that big dog off yours not got a heavy beddy influence init
  5. Always thought the idea of a rock dog was they don’t get stuck. You may not get every fox with them but you always get your tea at tea time. An old bloke I know is 72 worked rocks all his life several times a week, he always tells me there’s no such thing as a bad pile just bad dogs. Suppose he’s got a point a good sensible rock dog should never go where it can’t get back from. We’re not talking digging dogs now
  6. The fella that lost 1 to his terrier has been doing a lot with that 1 of his. I spoke to you a bit [BANNED TEXT] we dug that terrier of his out of rocks with machine. I was driving machine on day we got her out. I’ve had a day or 2 up there [BANNED TEXT] your lad has been there and I’ve seen the terriers work on top they know what they’re looking for
  7. That bitch had 16 pups he lost half off them in first couple of hours. Then I know 1 got killed by a terrier at a lads yard an apparently another died in a mans kennel. Shame really because they well bred things
  8. Good I’m glad your lads lurcher doing well mate. The sire to them is a hell of a hunter seen him find and take a couple on the fell this season that most lurchers would have never found. How’s the 1 you took getting on.
  9. how’s the lurcher doing I liked the mother to them pups. Have you got your terriers out off that litter started yet or are they not ready yet
  10. How old are they now Morton. I know lad hasn’t tried it yet not sure if he will this season it’s coming to an end. Did you take a lurcher pup off the lad I know your lad has 1 out off that litter
  11. I’m sure they get a few in the muck with them. I know the earth well Morton’s lad had them 2 foxes out off. It’s an excellent place for starting pups
  12. Trouble is ziggy they won’t work them in rocks. I know Morton’s lad he’s a good lad and gets plenty bushing with them beddy/fell types. My mate has a young terrier off them. It’s Black an tan and a very smart looking thing youd swear it was a fell and not a beddy
