  1. Once I was walking my dog in some woods popular with dog walkers, and he'd been chasing squirrels about and was full of adrenaline. We came across a family walking a tiny little "handbag" dog, and he ran over, picked up the dog and ran off with it. The little dog was unhurt, but its owner wasn't impressed, and I choose where I let him run a bit more carefully now.
  2. What I do know is he's got the strongest prey drive I've ever seen. He can be walking calmly on a loose lead by my side, see a cat and immediately go to 100%, lunging at the lead. And when he can't chase because I'm holding on to him he starts howling and barking and it takes me ages to get him calm again. I'd like to give him a go but I wouldn't know where to start
  3. He was probably about 2 in the top pic, in the other two he's at least 3 years old, as he's been with us over 2 years now and he was a (entirely untrained) fully grown pup when we got him.
  4. I guess that's what I'm asking, so thanks. The rescue told us he's a lurcher / lab cross but we figured that was wrong straight away. He's my first lurcher type dog, and I guess I'm really interested in whether he seems a good example.
  5. For my first post on here..... He's not a hunting dog, just a pampered family pet. That being said, he will chase anything that moves other than cows and horses. He was a rescued stray when we first got him, and he's probably between 3 and 4 years old. Any idea what his parentage might be?
