Had a soft shell jacket but soon got rid after a heavy downpour and getting soaked, it leaked on the seams! might have been unlucky with it, but got a £15.00 ex army goretex jacket now , top - notch.

Getting The Kids Out With The Dogs

My four year old has been riding since 2 and now has his own pony, crazes me too be out with the dogs no matter what the weather is, helps in mucking out the pony and the kennel/run, been around all sorts of animals since an early age . . . . . . the only two things he hates is being inside and computers. , i think its great to see kids involved, just a shame theres so many others against many things in this world !!!! -

I use excel bed down , its horse bedding, mixture of straw and shavings with a nice scent to it, its very absorbent with the wetness seeping to the bottom allowing you to remove clumps of it rather than having to empty the whole lot.

you bury the beer traps and cover leaving a small gap for access ya plum I knew that . . . . . LOL !

Food and water already raised off floor, guess salting as I find them may be the best way, unless I can get some salt in between wood frame and slabs as I have a slight gap to allow water to run out .

Noticed a couple of slugs in dog run this ève, any one had this problem? Dont wana be putting salt down unless I have too for obvious reasons but also dont want the slugs to get in dog! cheers

Mines just getting over this,put him on chick and rice for a few days with a treatment of promax and its seems to have sorted it out, although a big outbreak of parvo here too, but luckily didnt show any vomitting or lethargy.

My pup spent its first few nights in the house, the other half and kids said it werent fair for it to be outside, first 4 nights whined like a good un and needed toileting every 5 mins ! Enough was enough so i said hes out in kennel and run, now he only barks when we leave or get in or someone else turns up, sleeps through the night, the other half is well chuffed ! pup seems well happy , every pup is different and im sure it will settle soon.

Not much room in the house , ill look into the boot bags and see if any are totally waterproof, can possibly find somewhere to hang them outside.

At the minute im storing 5 pairs of boots and coats in plastic tubs outside the front door, tubs dont last long so im loking for storage ideas, id idealy like a porch of some sort built but budget a bit tight, any suggestions ???

Although i havent had their wellies i did once have a waterproof jacket from them , well it leaked like a sieve around all seams so wouldnt be surprised if the same happened with the zip seam, although i may have just had a dodgy jacket ??

i just had my pups first jabs and microchip for 47 quid, not the cheapest in my area but being literally 3 mins from me house i have always used them, never had any problems with them looking after me other two dogs. next vets was at least 10 miles away although cheaper, went for the reassurance of quality service.

Picking up pup shortly and at the moment have an 8 year old Trailhound, whats everyones experiences of introducing "pup to dog?" Should it be done on neutral territory or garden ????

How safe are these too use in a wood structerd sleep area with felt roof. Im considering investing in one but it will need to be plugged into a socket in the house, im concerened with regards to damp causing electrical problems in the bulb holder and water possibly getting into it?? or should i stick with good bedding and a coat for safety ?? The pup will be 8 weeks old

i have never thought of the use of removal blankets, certainly are quite cheap but has anyone used them?? Am trying to decide what to use in the kennel (first set up), was thinking lay soft equine bedding and one or two blankets.
