    sunday was a day i sort of got myself into bother before i'd even laid a net. woke up sunday morning thinking i was off out on my own and the conditions for ferreting were cock on,a cold frosty morning and the air was still nipping my face quite perfik. let the dog out to do her buissness and the mrs was shouting blue murder that all the doors in the house were open and she was not heating the street. so i told her to get out of my way then realized that because of that i had to do my own tea and sandwiches ( bad move methinks) off to feed the chickens and my mate ( who i thought wasnt

    there is alot of people quite happy to work hobs give them a good and if they work for you and you are happy with them go for it

    you can use watered down kitten milk bud as it has the lactose taken out of it

    dont give them milk and bread - ferrets are lactose intolerant and bread has no nutritious value whatsoever. when you feed your ferrets a bowl of alpha or other ferret biscuits in the cage at all times with plenty of water and fresh meat once a day . if you dont have a finder ( i have only just started using one after 40 years) only try small holes if your ferrets are young to build there confidence ( and yours). its the best sport in the world and with a little patience and a lot of coffee you will be fine happy hunting atb andy

    We have just received a call in the last 20mins reporting a ferret theft from a very well respected ferret keeper in Hampshire. The person concerned actually came across the would be theives attempting the break-in and we're led to believe a number of ferrets have been taken. Hampshire constabulary are reported to be at the scene. Please make as many people aware both locally and around the surrounding counties as there's the possibility theives are back targeting ferret owners again in and around the region. We've had reports of them either being stolen for opportunist poaching and anothe

    all i can say is if you use a muzzle how can your ferret defend itself if needed ?? i doubt you can dig down 4ft in seconds. these days you find allsorts down a bury with the rabbit, stoats,rats etc so how can your ferret put up a fight when its muzzeled

    wish i could feed my lot on 2lb of chicken a week lol and overprocessed full of water and no taste rubbish to boot. mine get livers,hearts and the suchlike but use alpha too especially in the winter as we have been snowed in here before for a week or more and need a handy back up. ferrets seem to prefer alpha to james wellbeloved

    you say a one for the pot boys dont have to worry but last month three kids got £450 in fines and asbo's for catching a rabbit round here and not killing it correctly( causing the animal undue stress is what the court said) and then cooking it on a campfire

    go to the local farm and pick up a bale of barley straw ferrets love it and so do the chickens. extra water bottles on list for this week as the never ending battle against frozen/unfrozen water begins - switch ferrets onto soaked ferret biscuits as i can help with water intake and it heats there food up when its freezing cold.put a new top on the ferret hutch to help shield them from driving rain and the rest is up to them - mine seem hardy enough got through the last few cold winters and it didnt seem to bother them

    all i can say is if you play with fire dont complain if you get burnt! poaching is poaching and at the end of the day and there blooming expensive rabbits if you get caught.

    got to wear em bud - some nice person shoved a glass in me left hand when i was 18 and all the tendons are bent. i have to wear gloves so i can grip the rabbits and stop my hands getting cold otherwise there as painful as owt
