Haix Tibet Forest boots are the dogs for digging in.Maybe a bit too stiff for general mooching about.

when i watched HPR field trials in the early nineties there was a tri coloured dog called "bestobel hiver" if i remmeber correctly.I think, but dont quote me on it, that it went on to be made up to FTch.The dogs owner told me that ,when training brittanies, that basic training had to be 100%,especially retrieving, before the dog was introduced to game.He said some breeds can be trained whilst in among game but the brittany needed training beforehand because its hunting instinct is so strong.Go and watch a good one in a open stake, you find bad ones aswell, and you will see the hunting instinct.

Deep dig your message box is full. The dvd is in the post, you will get it in the morning. You owe me a pint .

I didn`t actually see the dog i just remember seeing the name in fixtures and results.Mine was from the "friuli" kennels,it was the only kennels in the uk,at that time, to have bred, reared and trialed a international ftch dog.In the early nineties the main field trial kennels where Friuli, Swifthouse,Midlander,Trophill.I haven`t been to a trial for over 10 years so i would not know what was out there now.

when i was going around watching field trials i think i remember a dog called "starefoot sobrig".Is it the same lines?

as others have said, stop people copying pictures in their replys and make it easier to put pictures up.I can put them on smoochers but not on here

get in touch with the gsp club and they will put you in touch with local kennels.I had a 520 mile around trip to get mine but he was the breeding i wanted.Go and see the breeder and ask if the bitch is quiet whilst waiting a turn at a field trial. Some dogs whine so badly they have to be taken to the other side of the field because that can get you kicked out of a trial .
-
I bought my gsp from a top field trial kennels in 1995 for £350.I ordered him 6 months before the bitch was mated to make sure i got the breeding i wanted.Make sure you go to a working kennel rather than show kennel and you will be ok.

whats the best locator and collar system?

If you run your dog loose the b&f is invaluable with its vast range. If you take your dog to digs on a lead a deben will be as good as the b&f on 99% of digs. The b&f is strange to use at first, untill you are used to it so on most digs you can pin point your dog quicker with a deben. -
Is anyone going to the CA concert on 20th may at highclere castle?

"IMHO a dog is a stayer if it stays until dug to -any depth any length of time. Some shallow places can take a while to dig around us and the opposite also applies -some sand holes of 7foot can be reached in under an hour .The main thing with any terrier is that it does whats asked of it ,no messing ,no popping out for a breather .Also to be a purist ,only one hole should need to be dug .Many times I have seen lads put a dog in then its on with the box after a couple of yips .A hole is started only to hear the fight move elsewhere. This is down to impatients mostly and not a shit dog.Let the dog

It was a simmons aetec scope i was looking at.On a uk web site it was £249 in the usa it worked out at £68 .I was looking at a tasco varmint in the shop that was £75 the same in the usa was £31.I was hoping that a scope in the suitcase didn`t qualify for "import duty" .Make a good job of that trigger mate,i want it spot on!!!!!. Like i`d know the difference anyway:P

I have just ordered a new rimmy, which i pick up next week, from the place baldie works. One of my mates has got a place in america and is going at the end of this month.I have seen some scopes on a web site that are very cheap compared to over here and he will bring me a set back if i get them delivered to his place. My question is,due to todays high terrorist threats, will he get pulled at customs with a scope in his luggage??????? would it be worth taking the chance of him getting pulled and paying import taxes and vat?????

.22 rimfire pistol.Get in anywhere with one. .32 is a bit too much "overkill" in most situations

I was interviewed live on sky tv at one of the demos in london.I still have nightmares about it now .Beer and clever journalists DO NOT mix.I didnt say anything wrong but froze halfway through, much to the delight of my mates, and needed a prompt from the news guy to get me going again.I would probably be still stood there otherwise .Lads at work ripped the piss out of me especially as i had knocked the shift to go  .Dont go anywhere near it mate, leave it to the pro`s.

now each day is getting longer the birds will start and come back into full lay.The birds i hatched last year have just started to lay this past week.I have pure breds and there is a old saying "that you dont get any eggs between bonfire night and valantine day" and ,roughly speaking, its just about right.

yes mate they are the boots i was talking about. The sizes are large,i take a nine but my haix boots are eights, so the size twelve may fit you.
-
for digging in you will struggle to beat haix tibet forest boots. They are probably a bit too stiff and heavy for general mooching about but for digging in they are the dogs balls.
