Another thing to think about is approaching people with a rifle over your shoulder after dark. They could attack you or kick off about you having a firearm, although you’re completely innocent and have permission to be there. Most people aren’t aware that shooting goes on at night, so discretion is needed all the time, especially if you shoot on your own as I sometimes do

Yes, you’re right FH. I’ve had them at all times too but it was a shitty night, mist on the moor and drizzling. But there you go. The guy was oblivious to us 100 yards away ??

Ended up with 14 bunnies and nearly a fox. A late night walker interrupted a shot on Charlie otherwise it would have been a really good night. Always make sure before shooting there’s no one nearby…this was 11pm! A quick word stopped my mate shooting. Thank god for my thermal spotter ??

Ran a bore snake through my rimmy last week after a squirt of WD. Also put some into my mod. First time in ages. It was certainly quieter on the rabbits

I breasted a few brace of pheasant yesterday I picked up from beating at weekend and dropped the carcasses off on a spot I shoot on earlier tonight. Didn’t take long…this big fella came for a look and the .22 Ruger Hornet did the rest. Vmax 35gr ammo, wraith HD on top with SRX IR and the Axion XM30S spotter ??

Good shooting FH, nice bag. Doing the same myself this week, but fully aware of the moon phases. Next no moon later this month. Hoping for a cloudy night before that but NV will help

They should have left her at Balmoral, she loved the place. Seeing her being driven through the city of London with all the whooping and whistling, compared to how the Scots handled it I thought was disrespectful. The Scots did her proud and handled everything brilliantly.

Just checked mine, 112/65. Don’t know if that’s ok that but I try and keep fit and eat decent grub. No salt or sugar. Had a lung assessment last week being an ex-smoker and told I was fine ??

Dropped onto a place I do fox control on last night. We went to a spot where we had three cubs and a vixen earlier this summer. These were 150yds apart and the second shot, the adult dog, never flinched after the cub was shot first. 160 and 165 yds with the 22.250. Spotted another at dusk as we arrived so I’ll call for that this week ??
