    If you're on a budget, the 452 is a nice and competent rifle. Personally I'd avoid the varmint barrel.

    Hi guys, Well just for a change, Duncan looks a knob on THL. The ex now says she wants to keep the dogs ffs! So many thanks for the kind words from all of my hunting comrades and obviously if anything changes I'm really pleased that the bitches can go to good homes if needed.     Due to a horrible change of circumstances I have to find homes for two dogs. Roxy is a 18 month old lurcher, 1/8 whippet 3/8 bull and the rest greyhound. She's keen but hasn't done much work and would benefit from someone who'll work her. She lives indoors. The patter dale bitch is 15 month old and is very driven- good at flushing and bushing. I love my dogs but am now separated so can't have them any more. Any serious takers please get in touch. Dogs are in north bucks, near Newport Pagnell. Cheers Duncan Ps pics will be on later today.

    sorry gobbo, just letting you know what to expect in the real world when you put up a thread like this. Frankly, there's no need for the insults regarding my love length, nice to know that you're thinking about it eh? Perhaps instead of entitling your thread 'What's your longest kill?' calling it 'What's a realistic range to shoot quarry at?' would probably attract the kind of answers you would find more useful.

    I used to have a Lakeland cross that would dive for stones I threw in the lake - damn good little bitch she was. She also new commands like 'left' and 'right' when retrieving.

    I have to disagree with the 95k needing a tune. The one I had in .22 was fine straight from the box and just got sweeter and sweeter the more I shot it. One hole groups at 40 yards from a springer? Can't see a need to tune any airgun that'll do that! God I miss that rifle.

    Its Traditionally the 12th May Correct. But you have to keep an eye on them running up to this date. For instance last year around N Bucks, by the 12th, most have the young had already flown the nest and I was left with very few delicious targets to drop.

    Just had the best day! Shooting with a mate, cooking lunch al fresco with my son, and a mixed bag of game in beautiful sun-drenched surroundings. Bliss!
