    I've got the MTc viper 4-16x50. Quality scope for the money..use it on the 223 and swap it with the drone.. Used it dialling in consistently on bunnies out to 500 m .. Not far behind my German glass

    I too won't shoot does after the end of February. Don't see why bucks can't be shot all year though.

    Yes Richard I have some ground near Nutley and although I haven't seen them the owner said she had seen muntjac. She was even lucky enough to see one give birth on her lawn!! The deer herd can be 70/80 strong some days. Not sure who you use but I'm getting 2.80kg collected. If your interested I can pass you the number. Atb Steve

    Speaking to the local gun shop owner on the forest he thinks the numbers are way down over the last few years. What do you think Richard? I'm still seeing the same deer about in the surrounding fields an despite a good season think the herds are increasing. Do you see a good mix of bucks and does ? Great mornings work by the way..     Had some good cull bucks taken this season so far here in Sussex . Lots of does to be taken as the numbers are increasing rapidly. Does Mike shoot with you ? Seen a photo of him with some said his mate shot most of them.. Atb Steve

    Out this morning I had a herd of 20 does and fawns out feeding. From the wood a buck started bellowing and one by one the ladies duly obliged and disappeared. Collecting his harem already! Might try the grunt caller to see if he rises to the challenge. Atb Steve

    While out rabbiting I met a neighbour of a landowner I shoot for and after a quick chat I secured the shooting on his land. At his house a few days later he told me he had counted 40 fallow in the field beside his house. 'theres deer there everyday' he told me. As we walked to the hedge sure enough a big buck stood at the woods edge with 6 others lying about including 2 white ones. Must be the only place in sussex not being shot hard ! Nice to see deer out in the day. Atb steve
