  5. There's lots of lads that way buddy running little bobbery packs at the mo, hope the little dog finds its home
  6. Now that really is 'THE' question Bryan, the one i was hoping we'd get to...I have no idea but i'd love to find out.. I haven't heard of any cowan blood around for years, my old man really rated them as hard dogs and some of his best dogs came straight out of cowans yard, only problem was they would kill anything that moved I know AG brought some good Cowan blood with him when he came to hunt the Waterford foxhounds in the late 80's and MF carried on with that blood, but it's well diluted by now. Bryan, i've just been googling John Cowan and a couple of old archived THL threds exist. John o
  7. Usually the Welsh lads haha AtYeeep lol I had to look twice at the one couldn't believe it was thereTaking 'well worked' dogs to a show wouldn't be everyones cup of tea. For me, i'm very glad they do, and come to our show. Because its real workers I love to see! I was at a well known terrier club show this year an the judges was not picking any dogs with signs of any work. And the lurcher judge said to a bull x owner out right im not picking any dogs with scars on!

  10. Just wondering if there is any lads who make a living out of it, thinking of making the change and coming out of the building game and doing it full time. I have done lots before but through a contractor doing a local authority work,i really enjoy doing it just hoping i can make enough to pay the bills, just wondering if any lads had any info about prices around there area
  11. rock and earth don't effect the signal but metal can. I don,t like a collar on a terrier in rocks, many a terrier self entering with a collar on,mk.1,s and Bellmans ive encountered irregular readings. i would still always use a collar, i would rather have a irregular reading than not have one at all. just my views tho
  12. 1 o'clock bud but try get there a bit earlier if you can.
  13. Most piles you can dig bud if you have the right crew of lads and the right machinery and tools. i know what your saying mixed grill its not for you that's fair enough but you can just as easily lose a dog in a earth as you can rock, but they aren't ornaments bud they are there to work, you take the chance of losing your dog every time you loosen that collar.

  15. Lets not ruin a lads thread if working the rocks not for you fair enough but let's not start slagging lads off who do, generations of terrier men have worked rock and its a big part of fell hunting. Fair play to the boys that still do it i mostly dig now but as a teen earlier 20s i spent hours walking the moors checking piles for a bolt, and i still have the odd walk out now with my cousin and his fell type and if i could get my hands on the right kind of breeding there would be always space in my yard for that kinda tyke
  16. Nice dogs RT what stuff is the beddy bred out of?

  19. The old fell/lakeland type, up on leg narrow deep chest and not to big in size and a good coat, like the old buck or cowern stuff that's just my opinion
