  1. Haha when I had my own wagon pulling scrap that's exactly what I had Dutch spec Volvo gtxl with all the toys and twin straight through pipes looking like Blackpool lights on the move!!!!No I'm on the books driving a economical German hill detector.......stinking merc!!!!
  2. Disagree with you there mate, your dog was lucky it got a decent home.We have loads of lurchers in usually there for a while having a miserable life in kennels then most are PTS that's the real facts. I would rather PTS than hand one of mine in,everyone thinks they all go on to have a great life on some ones sofa, after you work in places like this you quickly see they don't .
  3. No mate done that a couple of times but its a nightmare I've done near damn everything so was getting call 24/7 for last min jobs usually Greece,Morocco etc but the logistics are Mickey Mouse so I plod about on bulk tippers now home every night.......lovely.
  4. Redmills and minced chicken. They love anything you throw them into excersise wise 10 mile biking flirt pole spring pole and bushing but keeping the little bitch out of holes is becoming a pain. Thanks mate
  5. No it's not its a twats job I hate it but the money is bearable,I work by myself and cutting up smack head hookers gets me through the lonely days
  6. He claimed being the key words here!!!!You could make a ton a day on the wagons but you'll put a shift in for it.
  7. Tbh anything driving is shit but if your adamant go get a class 2 truck licence you'll always have work .
  8. There's proposed laws that'll get your collar felt if someone deems your dog threatening ffs!!!
  9. Gullit,vialli,Zola,di matteo,mark Hughes,lineker,gazza,rush,Beardsley
  10. These are my old dogs the one on the left is long gone (16 there) but the one on the right is still here at 14 and still does the odd couple of miles behind the bike
  11. Yep I agree somebodies f**k up but not the dogs and many come good in the hands of tolerant and decent owners not expecting miracles night after night regardless for injuries or fitness or knowing when the dog has given there all for a day/night and going home. They'll always be nightmares that come in and a lot come back due to people thinking there doing a good thing but not realising what there taking on regardless of you telling them a dozen times but the OP has said its gonna be a pet so fair play for having a go. My mrs has 3 rescue lurchers never been shown or encouraged to hunt but 2 "
  12. Thanks they make me smile. The bottom one I had from a pup but the top one I was asked to rehome at 13 months so I did twice but was climbing the walls at both places so she stayed and took to work with pleasure, never been shown just learnt from the lurchers.
  13. I do a bit for a stray pound when I have the time and a lot of the lurchers that come in are injured mainly saluki based. Sure some do genuinely escape but most are dumped but I've homed 2 to working homes and once both dogs have had time to recuperate and bond well, have both gone to graft well for there new owners with no real problems. Sacking a dog for another "better" x seems the norm atm you just have to go on any of the FB so called lurcher pages to see the amount of tossers in the game. Anyway good luck with the new dog hope things work out for your family.
  14. Why would they be aggressive? A properly socialised dog is just that regardless of breed. I've kept Staffords for nearly 20yrs and only 1 was dog aggressive I got him at a year old and was bred that way,all the others were well socialised from pups and I can take them anywhere. The top one is easily spannable
  15. Got a couple here that bush and try there hardest for me had some good solo catches but mainly pushing for the lurchers. Break it to ferrets you can have some fun then.
  16. Try being a long distance trucker away all week and won't pay to park in services........it gets inventive lol
  17. Thanks Westy. Its sods law. After 30 years of being over run with rabbits and having pure-bred collies (although they did pretty well in the rabbit catching stakes!) I go out and get my ideal lurcher.....and all the rabbits disappear! Having said that, she does what I want her to do, thats as much as anyone can ask! Sod's law isn't it fingers crossed this seasons better
  18. Nice read Tyla good day lads. Herdwick how's the lurcher doing I did like the look of her.
  19. Ok so your losing your rag already has he had a clump when he finally come back on the lamp? There isn't a cut off time for good recall it good or it isn't and it sounds like the dog feels he can do a better job than you of putting game in front of him. Do you always go out with your mates and is this pride getting the better of you? The easiest thing to do is bury the dog buy another and try again but what have you learnt.....nothing. The dogs not a new one so some of this must've been learnt and to turn him around will take time as gaz1989 said on a previous post took 6 months to train h
  20. With the best will in the world just by that one post above you don't have the understanding to use an ecollar or what there for.Can you honestly say you've tried all other methods? Do you feel like your the dogs best pal and have properly bonded with him? Ecollars imo have there place but there a last resort and even so I'm not looking to cause the dog any pain just break focus for a split second and usually the vibrate setting is usually enough to do this.
