    Occasionally see a Red Kite near us but last year we had a Black Kite appear which I am told are not seen that often in Britain - stayed for quite a while together with a load of people trying to get a picture of it! Just down the road from me is a large nesting area for the Marsh Harrier so see a lot of those in the summer.

    Well we have had all the standard knocking of Border Terriers on this thread. If your dog does the job that you want it for that is all that matters! In my too many years of working terriers underground to various types of vermin (old enough to remember going out as a kid digging black and whites legally) I have used most types of terriers. Seen some brilliant Russells, lakies and blacks - also seen a fair percentage of crap ones.     Thg biggest part of the price rises is tax going into this governments big black hole. I've just spent nearly 6 weeks abroad. In that six weeks petrol has gone up 6p a litre here. In Spain over the same period it has gone up 1.4p a litre now reaching the giddy heights of approx 70p a litre and they are not happy! The government are loving the price of crude oil going up as it's lining their pockets with yet more of our hard earned cash. The government need to put a cap on the tax they receive from fuel sales - such as no tax over a certain price - then the rising oil prices would not hit t

    A friend of mine has had his 4 Yr old Border Lakeland Dog stolen this morning. I would describe the dog more as a red lakeland with a while blaze on his chest. He is going to email me a photo later when he can get to a computer. The dog is microchipped. Stolen from Gosberton, Lincolnshire between 8am and 1.00pm today by forcing padlocks off kennel. Seen outside house at 12.25pm was an old type dark blue Ford Transit towing a twin axle trailer. Seen with the van was thick set bloke, skinhead hair cut wearing shorts and T shirt.
