I don't think the nooski offers anything over a bodygrip or a Fenn, but why the big no Ditch?
-
It's not a bad day out, but I guarantee you one thing, she will want riding lessons after and a pony for Xmas,
-
No, the best thing for people to do is just to carry on as we are and forget about trying to overturn it.
-
Yes you are right, that is what is written in their cat., but I think it should read "must not use outdoors". I have just been through the Defra and FC websites, nowhere does it say that it is illegal to use Warfarin bait for squirrels in roofspaces/lofts indoors, it does say "not reccomended" because of the possibility of not being able to retrieve the carcase, but not illegal.
-
Ok, and I quote from the Killgerm 2007 catalogue, Grey squirrel bait, contains 0.02% warfarin, to be used only in grey squirrel control by competant persons. For use only between March 15th- August 15th for tree protection. Uses besides tree protection-timing unrestricted. The use of Warfarin to control grey squirrels is illegal unless the provisions of the Grey Squirrel Order 1973 are observed. This product must only be used outdoors in Scotland and the following counties of England and Wales: Cumberland, Northumberland, Carmarthen, East Suffolk, Cardigan, Norfolk, Flint, Durham, Westmorland,

.....apart from the fact it's illegal. For the protection of trees only...never seen a tree in a loft yet! Warfarin treatment of grey squirrels in roof spaces indoors can be carried out at ANY time of year and in ALL areas of the country using a 0.02% warfarin bait. Grey Squirrel (Warfarin) Order 1973

Nice pics my friend, a lovely part of the world, when I was younger I used to love it up there, did a lot of hunting with Eskdale & Ennerdale, Coniston and Ullswater, I'm going to go and dig out some old photos just to look back at now.

The missus and kids are away, and I have just made myself the most delicious rabbit curry. Had it in a marinade of olive oil, garlic, spring onions, brown sugar, soya sauce and ginger for two days. Boiled it in the marinade for 25 mins, cut meat off bone, then added coconut milk, bit of flour, carrot, mango chutney, raisins, honey, sliced apple and curry powder, brilliant if I say so myself. And I know when I heat it up again tomorrow it will taste even better, anyone want to come round, PJ PS, stick your Big Macs and KFC's where the sun don't shine

Got to the rocketing rabbit, then had two succesive time penalties, bollocks.

Artemis, I don't think you have anything to apoligise for, all you did was ask a question and H&J has gone off the deep end , don't know why exactly. Humane is a word that people use when they want to justify killing something in a way they think is okay. I, in my time have killed and witnessed 1000's of animals being killed, I have seen humane and I have seen cruelty. Can we guarantee that everytime we kill something it will be "humane", the answer is no. e.g. I've shot a few hundred horses in my time, twice, something went wrong and I had to give them a second shot. Snaring is an example

I was in Co Wicklow a few years back, one night I had to to call on a farmer in the Wicklow mountains, when I got there I thought "no one home", but went round the back to knock on the door, looked in through the kitchen window. Oil lamp on kitchen table, loaf of bread and said farmer with his head on his arms fast asleep, sheepdog laid in front of peat fire, and a radio in the background. Knocked on door, dog barking, "who's there", explained who I was and what I wanted, and the door was unlocked and opened and I was staring at an old man holding a British Service Revolver. Anyway, went in, g

Ditch, I'm sorry to dissapoint you mate, but most, if not all Kerrygold is made in Leek, Staffordshire, and you definately do not want to know where 90% of the workforce come from, I think perhaps you should stick to Anchor

Good advice there from 'proper job'... Actualy,.most Mustelines are fairly easy to trap... They suffer from an incredible 'curiosity' and have little or no bait shyness,.and this is generally their downfall... Personally,.I prefer to use the Kania 2000 Trap,...its the DADDY... All the best,.CHALKWARREN.... Chalkwarren, cheers, I agree with you wholeheartedly, but not being as wealthy as you southern pesters, "whats the price to catch a rabbit, guv" , "loadsa money" comes the reply from down sarf, I have to make do with the poor mans version , the 116, which you sold me a

Becks, hope these help, This is a double entry mink trap set on stones next to the bank, and right by a bridge so I don't have too get out to check, I drive by every day. This one has a bodygrip in it, but can easily be done with single entry trap, just find a nice location, think of things from a mink point of view, they like to explore where they might find food, trees, ditches running into rivers, drainage pipes etc. I don't bait mine unless I definately know there are mink about, and then I just use cat food. I will however dip a bit of sheeps wool in somthing smelly, fish oil or

if you've got water voles about you need to be using cage traps, DEFRA would come down hard if you caught one of them in a mark 6, even if it was an accident, there are several on here who could help, I'll try to get some pics up if no-one else does.
