I use both but i prefer the old broody (goldy top) silkie x sussex, Only think with pure silkie is when the chicks hatch sometimes they will get hanged in the silkie feathers, thats why you cross them by using a silkie cock over sussex pullets also sexed linked when hatched,,,

i always take my webley & scott auto, I use SG and AAA very good heavy shot! i have dropped foxs at 35/40 yards, My mate uses slugs also
