  1. That's interesting Phil, an FAC 90 at 25ft/lb. How did it handle, was there much recoil?
  2. Nipped out to one of my perms this evening, just before dark to see if there were any rabbits about. The land owner tells me the numbers have started to slowly increase and with him getting ready to begin planting his vegetables on his commercial plot he's keen that I make a start picking them off before their numbers increase too much. To say it was breezy is a bit of an understatement. I spotted the first rabbit as soon I got out of the car but as it was a small kit I decided to leave it for another day. My rationale was that it couldn't do too much damage at the moment and I see it as p
  3. Cheers lads, here's a little group shot
  4. Latest upload of the Annie 1517 for those who are interested: http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/285536-100-yard-challenge/?do=findComment&comment=3134946
  5. Cheers lads, it was quite calm but there was a bit of a breeze which blew the shots off 1.5 mil dots to the right The .17HMR is really affected by the wind at these distances By the way the dyke is a dry stone wall and its one of my great uncle's; luckily he won't notice but you should see the ones at 100m
  6. Thats bloody cheap, well done! It'll be the 25mm comp tube to no doubt which should make it even sweeter to shoot The 97 stock fits like a glove with the higher cheekpiece but lacks the elegance and classic lines of the 77 standard stock. Yours look a beaut. Are you in the lowest possible mounts? I went with a 40mm scope for that reason. Personally, with a springer especially, I don't feel you need much more - just buy quality glass. 7. Great write up and good shooting That's a lovely 77 you have there, is it brand new or did you buy it secondhand?
  8. Nice video Miles, thats a lovely HW77 you have there too, would be great to see some pictures if you have any? Looks like it had some money spent on it at some point
  9. Here's a picture of my 3 shot group with my Annie 1517 .17HMR. Managed to get this on video too so will upload it later. I had to give 1.5 mil dots hold over and 1.5 mil dots for windage on my Hawke Nite Eye Digi 4-16x50 on x10 magnification. Initially I struggled to see the impacts and I think if I had persevered it would have been an impressive group. Unfortunately time was limited on the digital camera due to only having a 16gb memory and filming in HD If those crows get to within 200 yards I'm having 'em! Funny thing is I think they know it
  10. I was thinking the same but each to their own eh?
  11. Nice to hear what happened Mawders, such a shame about the Pro Sport. Look forward to reading your 97KT review
  12. Ah thanks, never heard of them being called that
  13. Never heard of a Spar, could you post a link I'd be interested in seeing what one is?
  14. Would you mind posting the details where you got your cold weather gear from Paul? Is it waterproof and if so is it quiet to walk in?
  15. Cheers lads, yes its not a bad spot. Bitterly cold on the best of days though!
  16. Imagine if the Japs made air rifles; now they would be a thing of reliability!
  17. Picked up a nice pair of Danish flecktarn army surplus trousers at one of my local gun/outdoor shops in Kirkby Lonsdale today http://www.gr-rdtaylor.co.uk/#/products/4566018637 Nice shop packed full of shooting, camping and outdoor cooking equipment. Definately worth a visit if you're ever passing, its like a grotto! Great knife selection and lots of camoflauge and army surplus. I've been after some Danish cammo clothing for a while after noticing how well David James AKA HuntersVermin blended into the backround in his shooting videos. Unfortunatly there was no jacket in stock but I've
  18. Cheers, just over 300 acres in total. All upland land bordering moorland. Pretty bleak most of the time though but nice to stretch my legs and those of the .17HMR
  19. As much as I try to target the corvid population at the family farm they seem to get the better of me. We took the drive down to visit family today and I decided to give the Annie a walk and have a go at the crows. I have seen a few carrying twigs over the last few days as they begin to build and repair their nests for Spring. Forgetting the Little Owl decoy I had no other option but to go on foot and carefully stalk down the dry stone walls but with the farm Jack Russel following me each step of the way I wasn't in for much of a chance Still, a nice couple of hours out, as cold a
