  1. I can only guess you must spend too much time reading them?
  2. Hi all, I'm a mature (pushing 40), responsible (company manager) airgun shooter with a sub 12 ft.lb PCP. I'm drawing a blank finding a regular permission around my local area, so would be very keen to hear from anyone in Cambridgeshire with a rabbit or pigeon population which needs reducing. I'm a member of BASC, fully insured, take a very cautious view towards safety and grew up amongst the farming community in the depths of Norfolk, so well versed in how to behave around crops and livestock. Ideally looking for somewhere in the area between Cambridge, Huntingdon and Ely, but wil
  3. 1250fps. If they're using Gamo's own 21.5 grain ammo, I make that just under 75 ft.lbs!
  4. I'd recommend letting her try an Ultra before buying. A mate was going to buy one for his mrs. recently, but found she hadn't got the strength in her hands to cock it
  5. XTX does most of them now I think. http://www.xtx-air.co.uk/2.html £120 plus return postage.
  6. You'll get about 20 shots per fill at FAC levels, which may or may not be practical, depending on how you use it. To be honest, I think an FAC Ultra is a bit of a pointless exercise. You won't get any significant increase in range and it's perfectly capable of dropping quarry at sub 12ft. Getting it regulated is a better option IMO, as you can still shoot where you like, your shot count goes up significantly, and it becomes even more consistent.
  7. A lot of newer Lightnings have had quality control issues since manufacturing was moved to Spain. I've not heard of many issues with Ultras, although mine was missing a circlip off the safety, which I only discovered stalking a rabbit with the gun cocked. Fortunately, I had thick boots on at the time, otherwise it'd have been a trip to casualty With the Ultra in particular, it's well worth considering buying one second hand. The guys over on BSAOG tend to be a good bunch and a lot of Ultras sell there. The advantage with buying secondhand is if you pick a good seller, you know the gun do
  8. I've got a .177 multi and love it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one but, if I was buying one again, I'd have gone for the .22. Nothing to do with the gun, just that owning both .22 and .177 guns (other gun's a .22 Lightning), I think the lower air usage and greater stopping power would have been the better choice for me, as most of my use is hunting.
