  1. Good on you Duckwing!! We are suposed to be SPORTSMEN!! Being cruel is not acceptable!! Unfortunatly the world is full of tossers
  2. 15 months old and at least 2 homes already what chance has the dog got!! Cracking looking dog too. shame!!!! Still, it's just a dog eh, plenty more out there to buy and sell
  3. Come on now, people have there own oppinions on lamping hares put i very much doubt a nearly blind terrier could catch a lamped hare lamped hares still test YOUNG dogs and rews dogs are still only YOUNG and i am sure he doesnt want to rush them, and i am sure that next season they will be ready to tackle the daytime runs.........and if you spent the last year training pups and they take a hare on the lamp after all your hard work you say thats nothing to be proud of, i'll leave it at that....... well done rew good effort I think its great that his dogs are picking up the hares on
  4. I wouldn't advise a Plummer. Not if he is going to be riding his bike near other dogs. Mine was a great wee dog and i loved her to bits but seh was a devil with other dogs. Just my opinion.
  5. Just had a quick look - great concept!! However, if thats how good we can see it, think how close the goverment can zoom into!!
  6. Just thinking about the ban and wondered if people think that the Coursing and Fox hunting ban will end up the same as the badger hunting ban? Basically before 1973 (i think) it was legal to hunt badger. I suspect when the law came in people still persued them hoping that the law would be overturned? However, 35 years later the genral public and law treat badger hunting as a really serious crime. The genral public think it is cruel to hunt a badger. We all hope the hunting ban will be overturned but I dont think it will. So, 20 years from now do you think killing a hare or fox will be
  7. so what percentace collie is it then? lol nice looking pup bud
  8. Intresting thread and intresting views. I suppose you are looking at it like a lot of greyhound racers. For me the dogs are pets that work. When i buy a dog it has a home for life. I dont hunt to put food on the table i hunt for sport. I take my dog out to the beach if we go for the day, I take my dog fishing with me and she lives indoors. She is great with the kids and sleeps at the end of my bed. I love to get out lamping, ferreting and coursing and the dogs love it too, thats what its all about to me. But I love going for a pint at my local with the dog by my side. i love seeing th
  9. Anyone else adicted to this program? Still cant work it out! Very Well done.
  10. Anyone know of any game dealers in Edinburgh or close to Edinburgh who buy deer, hare etc and also what sort of price they would pay? cheers
  11. HAVE TO AGREE WITH YOU MINE OUT AND ABOUT SOON AS THEY'RE JABBED AND OVER LAST 20 YRS NEVER HAD A PROPLEM GET THEM OUT AND SHOW THEM WHAT LIFE'S ABOUT AS YOU SAY COMMON SENSE IS WHAT ITS ABOUT BE IT 12 WEEKS OR 12 YRS I think everyone agrees its good for a pup to be outdoors getting used to various smells etc but we are talking about letting a still developing animal work at 16 weeks. It's like putting a complete novice in the ring with Calzagie, yes the novice will get the odd punch in but the outcome is ineviatable. He's not ready to fight a champ and would more than likeley
  12. I think you are right snoop. At 18 months a dog is a young dog, not a pup.
  13. Were there any dogs that did well against the top single handed dogs pre ban? or were all the top match dogs line bred saluki crosses?
  14. I agree its good to get them out and ot stuck at home but I wouldn't ever consider giving them a run on a bunny.
  15. your dead right lad id normaly wait till seven to eight months and with an experinced dog hes taking bull shit i.v got dogs in my run that was catching ferreted rabbits at that age it depends on the pup some pups are more advanced than others Not for me bud, each to their own. Fair enough out with the dogs for experiance etc but to lamp or ferrt a 16 week old dog with milk teeth is not right. They are your dogs, and you may have been lucky but a dogs bones are not strong enough, there lungs and internal organs are not developed properly and to me its a recipe for disaster.
  16. brilliant bud!! seriously though, kids reading stuff like that will be trading dogs at 6 months becasue they're not catching. Very strnge one.
  17. Picked up my copy of Countrymans this week and glanced at the letters to the editor section. Couldn't believe the letter published by someone called Tony Webb. He is saying pups should be taken lamping at 4 months old!! What a lot of nonsence!! 4 months is only 16 weeks - still bloody puppies! I actually cant believe they would publish that to be honest. Is it just me or is there something wrong with that?
  18. Sorry, I actually ment single handed daytime coursing.
  19. that sums it up perfectly for me.
  20. When your are (were) working your dogs on hare pre ban what was it all about to you? were you more intrested in catching big numbers or seeing your dog course the hare? For me it is puerley sport. The kill itself and numbers were not importiant. Just wondered what peoples views were.
  21. She's just turned a year on 24th January.
  22. That's it, Im not talking to you anymore Na seriously, I dont get offended easy. Yea that would be good. Has your bitch had her litter yet? Not sure how the whippet will fare but am hoping to give her a blast anyway.
  23. Cheers bud, I'll give you a shout before the season starts and we can pencil in a few dates.
