Hancocks Collies come from working lines - sheepdogs entail long hard days of work! The greyhounds he uses are all ex track dogs. I was more than happy with my 3/4 grey 1/4 border bitch. I knew what I was getting when I bought her. Id say make you own mind up. Visit the kennels. All the dogs are healthy. I do not agree with comercial breeding yet I would buy a pup from him again. Really liked him and like the dogs he breeds.

Not 100% sure what the oroginal fathom was to be honest but would always thought that it would have been collie blooded. There may have been some bull way back but it was certianly well diluted by the Pherab and Medra era. Fathom 2 was either merab or phedra (always got them muddled up) x Hancocks Goose - red merle half cross. Defenatly was no GSD in them. I used to take Fathom 2 out very often and she was suberbly well trained but she lacked a bit of pace for me. I would have put a greyhound over her and you would have had some cracking pups. She ended up going to a guy down south

If I have done this right you will be looking at a Picture of the 1st Reserve. I am hoping someone will drop out and we will get her in.

Ypu will need to be strict on the dog returning to hand. If your dog misses yu should be able to call it back or as if it hunts up it could disturb the rest of the rabbits in the next field. Also, make sure the land you run has a decent amount of rabbits.

Not been on for a few days and looks like ive missed it but I would like to enter my ped whippet. Am near Edinburgh. Please put me as reserve if possible - I am a defenante, not a time waster.

I think £100 - £150 is a fair price to charge for a lurcher. Its enough to stop people buying on a whim but not too expensive for your average working man. I keep whippets now and Paid £250 for one bitch and £450 for the new pup. If I was to breed a litter I would rather give the pups to a genuine working home where they would be looked after than sell them for crazy money. There are families out there who would love a pup and would give it a home for life plus work the dog. I would more than gladly deliver a pup for free to a home like that. £450 is alot of money and the only reason

Hello, I have four Jill ferrets that I want to bring out of season. I am in Midlothian but will travel to collect the hob or drop off my four. I am happy to pay a reasonable fee. Alternitaveley, if anyone know the name of the incetion to bring them out of season my vet can order it in but he is not sure what it is? cheers

The sad thing is there is no deterant! the worst thingt that wiould happen is you get your hands on them and give them a hammering! So they think its woth the risk? The police wont be intrested and even if they caught the theiving swines they would get a slap on the wrist!!!!!! The whole justice system is a complete shambles. I can understand why (dont agree or think its okay in the slightest) some people would do that. The rewards are a few hundred quid for ten minutes work - the risk of being caught is slim and the risk of being taken through the courts is minimal. It really is a sad

The world is a scary place now. Ive got a 3 year old daughter and a 1 year old daughter and it scares the hell out of me to think about the future when they are old enought to go out clubbing up the town. I remember when I was younger a fight was standing toe to toe with someone. Nowadays you are scared to look at people in case they have a blade in their pocket. My motto is "get in first" hit hard and keep them down, dont mess around and take chances. My wife and I were on a (rare) night out in Edinburgh a few weeks ago and we were walking to get a taxi when I noticed two guys wal

My appologies, you are quite correct. I wrongly assumed he was talking about runing hares. While on the subject of digging, Unlike coursing, should you get caught digging ileagally it would be very difficult, if not impossible to get away with it IMO.

Has anyone ever had a tat removed by laser or what ever else. I have a few and love them but there is on I hate. A big scull with a scorpion on it. Pretty much all black. I am looking into laser removal but wondered if anyone had any experiances of it?

Basically he only legal quarry in the uk to hunt with dogs are rat and rabbit. They can be hunted day or night provided you have the land owners permision. Loopholes? - most defenatly!! use a bit of common sence and you wont need them. Dont carry three or four hares in your bag with the lurcher by your side would be a start! The people who get prosicuted are those who are not careful enough IMO

I always think of shows as a bit of fun. Have only ever been to a few but to be honest I enjoyed seeing other lurchers and terriers more than worrying if my lurcher would win the show or not. I keep whippets now and bought them from working stock. Bought as pets and workers. They both live indoor and are great with the kids. Now, they will be worked on rat, rabbit, phesant, squirrel and hare but they will race in the summer months. I am new to the racing but am really getting into it. I see no problems to people showing / lure coursing their dogs. Better than them being stuck in the ke

What other dog to accompany a lurcher???
minion replied to Gaz_1989's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Why not get another lurcher? perfect pet plus you can work it too. I wouldn't run a terrier with a lurcher. I know some get on fine but you can end up with a very hurt or very dead terrier if they dont see eye to eye when your out with them. Good luck anyway
