My pup is from pie lines!i was told. What made this dog do famous and in demand that people are still talking about him up and down the country. Iv just heard thro the grapevine but would like to hear from people that seen him graft.

Running dog addiction is my favourite. Extreme lurcher work is good aswell.

I was wrong, she is just barking at nothing. Watched her this morning after been took a walk round the fields and fed. 10 mins later she was barking out at nothing.

Thanks for the replies guys. I will try boarding the kennels so they can't see each other as iv a feeling she is barking at them and not for no reason. I was thinking about doing this anyway because if I decide to take the terriers and leave her one day she will prob howl the place down. Failing that il look into these collars. No way will it get pts tho.

I tried with the hose mate ran out everytime then sat the hose facing the kennel so the she would see it but didnt work either. She would wait till I was back upstairs, in the bed then kick off again the wee shite lol

I see alot of talk about the hunting act coming to the house of parliament to discuss amendment to allow more figs to flush foxes. Does anyone know if hare coursing or lurchers and foxes are going to be looked at to?

Can anyone recommend a good shock collar that gets results. This pup is going to have to police at the door soon with constant barking. Iv tried everything and bought wee cheap shock collars but they were crap. I feel this is my last resort. It's not lonely as all the dogs can see each other in the kennels it's just constantly barking at them. I don't want to put it in with a terrier coz when out its always hassling them so if would be worse in a kennel and the terrier might turn. If anyone has any other advice or different method that would be appreciated, thanks

I was reading " a passion for coursing" and it seems most of the dogs the guys owned had been passed around a lot and then even going back to original owner.
-
Why is it that most of the best dogs there has been have all had about 5 owners. From the coursing side to the bull xs. You always hear about different people owning them and someone else had it for a few month etc. seems the top dogs have all had there fair share of owners. Why is this if anyone can explain? Cheers

Dogs That Don't Make The Grade Or Jack.
obi2 replied to Dranny GLC's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
If you have a dog that jacks you either stick by it, find it a pet home or a home doing something it can do. Dogs should never be put to sleep cos they cant do something. People who put a dog to sleep for not making the grade or whatever want a bullet themselves.I think the same mate -

Cracking looking dog mate!

I don't know if it's been done before but it would be good to hear different peoples opinions on conditioning there dogs. What there steps are at the end of summer to start there fitness training then how they keep that fitness throughout the season along with feeding. Be good to hear methods from the coursing guys to the foxing guys, the lampers and ferreters.

Ozzy Bitch Pup 5Months Old And Killing
obi2 replied to The reaper's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I wouldv thought 5 month to be to early for entering physically and mentally. Obviously you know your own dogs tho and see them everyday. Out of intrest what's your next step with them? How long do you keep them on rabbits for? Atb -
Whippet/greyhound Over A Saluki/greyhound ?
obi2 replied to Dranny GLC's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
We used to run this cross a few years ago and swore by them. They made decent all rounders and killed hares for fun. The ones that were entered to fox took to them no problem but not all were tried. There sole purpose was lamping rabbits, hares and deer (per-ban) and they excelled at it. -
,plenty of pedigree staffs that cost £300-500 plus in shelters Good point

Should the price of lurchers be more than it actually is. I think yes. When you see them advertised for likes of £ and such it means anyone can afford to get there hands on them when they take a notion for a hunting dog. Some put no time in them and when the notion wears off its swapped for a air rifle or the likes. Even the average £150 is very cheap for a lurcher. If the price was a more i think it would put off alot of the 1season wonders off. For example say the starting price was £300. I think more people would do there homework on a litter of pups, finding out about the working abilities

I picked mine up on Saturday. There was mine there and a litter mate and I can honestly say I haven't seen pups in as good a condition as these were. We sat down and went through there breeding and the more we spoke about the relatives and pictures I was shown of them the more I couldn't believe they were only £200!! A steal in my eyes for quality bred pups with outstanding bloodlines and well reared from birth. There a credit to you Ian.

Here's mine, picked up yesterday saluki bull grey

Defanatly mate, I'm looking forward to it already!

Cheers guys,i could have had half a dozen dogs in the kennels the past couple if years if I had believed half the bullshit some of the guys have told me when iv been to see pups. It's opened my eyes up to what's actually out there and it's a shame. Im back in the lurcher game for good now and making sure I keep in touch with the decent guys.

Got the pup home today and I couldn't be happier with it. Had a cup of tea and chat and the basics are certainly in place for her. Down to me now but iv got high hopes for this one. The pups are a credit to the guys
