    Remember though a lot of these old men used multiple terriers back in the day ok they dug stuff when it was legal but to be honest were there dogs any better and should they be held in such high regard as great terriermen of old when dogs were dogs I think the dogs of today are a better standard to quote dr old rip and black jack were top class but the black dog is a better tool now we have these new collars I have respect for Anyone of senior age to myself as a person but I think to a lot it is Rose tinted glassed regarding terrierwork of old a lot of it is exactly where it belongs in the pas

    Under cover PETA lol I've been called a lot of things but never an anti but I suppose that is a first to keep you informed I marched at every march and even went to Ireland and marched I have written letters to the prime minister and also the local mp with regard to terrierwork and hunting

    Earth dog finder of you were so into working dogs why on earth are you getting so upset over a show everyone knows the craic with them and who they are full of but that's there choice that's there enjoyment they travel all over the country doing what they enjoy why slag them for it do as I do don't bother going I can't be fuoocked with them why waste time getting upset over it

    I would like to add barry wild maybe not digging any More but certain did a lot once over he use to dig a fair bit with dr I've heard some funny story's about him and his flitch ken Gould more a breeder of decent dogs some the main foundation of a lot of Modern day blacks but without causing offence with only one arm digging seriously I struggle to believe it I have been told he was more of a nuisance getting in he way but fair play he use to try but results speak a thousand words and his dogs once over and still are doing the business I also hear he is on with breeding some more proper b

    Do not underestimate the ametuer terrierman jus because he isn't paid to do a job doesn't mean his terriers are sub standard if anything I'd say theyd be better as he will take more time digging his dog out were as the hunt man is flat out to get the dig complete to do his job ok in the olden days then the hunt man would get a lot of digging but these days he win be getting as much some lads do as they are flat out for digging who are hunt service but a lot just do these days as little as possible

    With todays climate towards hunting and terrierwork what's your opinions on modern day terriers and terriemen I personally think like already stated in other threads terriers are unless bred by yourself or other decent like minded men of poor quality and for a newcomer coming into the sport god help them where do they look to aquiring one youd be in my eyes very lucky to buy one out of the paper but how many decent lads would then trust a new face hanging about you have your team all trusted men so how do you trust some one else it's impossible but without doing so we could risk doing furthe

    I remember reading once that in the old days if grouse where short on numbers the numbers were made up with young rooks then sent down to London if it's true they be nice because grouse in my eyes is lovely
