  1. im not sure about this as the one we work was mentally ready to work and switched on around between 10-12 month. He is a 5/8 collie rest lurcher. His sire was a lurcher, dam was a collie. Don't get me wrong he's nearly 7 now and acts like a big pup playing around. So maybe not haha
  2. "Only used him for his ferrets really"._._._.Looks like he used you, like you used him mate.._._ But yes it is a c**ts trick suppose so haha aw well.
  3. Moment of truth...... And....not bothered.
  4. his loss Phil, I won't ever work the fields with him again. I don't think he's the only one I've took though that's went back. Call lads like that "boomerangs" haha
  5. Took a lad out ferreting and lamping on my permission every now and again for couple seasons. Only used him for his ferrets really. Anyways found out last week he's been going back asking for permission and even said he was there to get a few rabbits on behalf of me.
  6. Good read that and well done both. And fluff I agree bolting rabbits is great sport
  7. Good stuff that, i used it when i wanted to put a bit more back on one of my dogs, just added a little amount to the normal feed three times a week, a sack lasts a long time aswellyour right it lasts a long time. I've currently got mine on the bigger chunks but i prefer the small stuff. And I always soak it otherwise they seem to drink a pan or 2 of water easy. Plus I always find it easy, when at work all day if I forgot about taking the frozen meat out I can easy give it to them quick.
  8. my grandad and uncles use it for the greyhounds and swear by it. To be honest I have fed it now and again to the pup and she loves it. What veg is best?
  9. yeah I use it now and alternate between that and minced chicken/beef. I think it's really good. Can't give too much Of it though. Also use good biscuit and pasta, with chunks of lard. Never bothered with veg really
  10. Have yas ever used the greyhound crunch? The stuff that high in protein?

  13. quite a lot I know of made the grade to be fair, a lot were exceptional dogs as well. Not sure which jacked on bunnys maybe if you named the dog or who had them, would maybe be able to give you a better answer. This is my bitch out of Jack
  14. Good thread this and some good pics. My uncle has a whippet and always exciting to watch work. Seems to be a popular type the whippet up our way, mainly for the shows and racing.
  15. Gypsy 19 week old today 21 3/4 inch tts 33lb weight... Thought I took decent pics had she so hard to get a good photo of, but there kinda blurry. She's coming along great with her retrieve and jumping and stock breaking. Had her out on the weekend with beagles/hounds hunting the hills too just getting her used to every environment I will be working her in.
  16. what dogs do you work now northern lite? Do you think it matters about the type of collie bred into them? Or the lurcher there put too? Can there be too much collie in a lurcher? Some genuine questions
  17. aye the poor beddie type always gets a beating they can handle it but it takes a specail type to own a collie cross so they say or does it can't make its mind up pmslI couldn't take a risk on collie types.. Imagine getting to top of a Monroe and decided I don't want to run today... I would boot it back down the hill...or after a big bag then decided to stalk...or Worse lifted there head not looking at beam...I would have a hairy fittYeah that would be a nightmare! Is that true then? Do collie x give up? Just Ones I have ran with are total opposite, don't no how to quit. I take it ur collie
