  1. Now what would you say is the difference in size between a cow and a horse that it's too big, 2"...4"...what's your cut of point for too big
  2. Not that bad but yes that's it. Glad to see I was doing the right thing
  3. Doubt it but I know my bitch has pulled a few males in from quite a ways away while out bushing Carry a big stick if you're working a bitch in season and don't let her out of your sight.
  4. time of year mate, thistles etc. put some savlon on it. Thanks for the info, it's the first time I've worked a pup in tall plants
  5. I'll give you a pm to my last avatar
  6. My pup the last 2 times on the lamp ended up with stiff muscles the next day that had to be massaged out. Would the electrolytes help stop this from happening? Should do, but it all depends why the muscles were stiff FTB. If for example the dogs were not fit enough then it wouldn't do any good, if the muscles had been cramping because of dehydration then yes it would definitely help. If you know you are going out for a long hard day/night in advance, soak and i mean swim, your dogs food in water for the feeds prior to work. Then electrolytes before you go out, during if you need to and
  7. time of year mate, thistles etc. Do you use anything to keep it down? I would mind so much except she doesn't have as much fur there and it's white so it really stands out.
  8. cheers fella wife wondered where i got too and found me staring at your avater with dribble on me chin busted. are you sure that was dribble
  9. My year old pup has red bumps on her chest. I work her bushing every day for 3 hours and lamp her one night every other week. She does go between barbed wire and over but it doesn't look like cuts. Could it be the wet grass always brushing her or the brambles she is pushing through? Has anyone else had this happen? I've started putting nappy cream on it to ease the irritation and hopefully get rid of it. Thanks for any advice
  10. If all the basics are down like recall and the dog has fetched to hand toys there's no problem giving it a go. You won't ruin a pup giving it a chance but don't expect too much or work it too long. All the best with your pup
  11. Bloody hell CP, I'm glad you don't write movie scripts. Could you imagine how shit you'd make an epic film like Gladiator? Roman general wins big battle... Roman general gets set up.. Roman general becomes slave... slave becomes gladiator... Gladiator kills emperor then fucks off to afterlife to ride dead wife... The end... Malt you keep this up and you'll be on hte list of best posters
  12. If a public footpath goes thru' a field where you know for a fact dangerous stock is in, surely the best thing is to avoid it ? Cheers. I did avoid it, the problem was it wasn't avoiding me It's a looooong walk around to get to another footpath leading to my permission
  13. Hi mate, just type in hancock alex in the forum search and there are plenty that have posted on here. Borderscott and all.rounder are a couple
  14. I was walking my dogs on lead on public footpath where a well know sh*t stirring horse was in. I kept to the path and the kept moving in the way. I would move off to one side to give good clearance and the moved right back in our way. What should I have done if it decided to have a go at my dogs for nothing? The only difference between my dogs being on lead and off is they would have had a better chance of getting out of the way.
  15. I can see it now Rob walking around in a field with goats clapping his hands at them, nothing happens so he turns around to leave and gets a good thumping on the ass. I can't stand goats my brother had a rotten pair, you would have to hold up a plastic chair to keep them from buting you anytime you went outside.
  16. Swampy You're soooooooo correct. Especially in regards to the lack of class and reverse snobbery. I realised before I made the OP that the Neanderthal types would never manage to grasp the basic concept. Those over shot brows and dragging appendages come with a heavy burden on the intellectual front.Perhaps that might help explain their propensity to wear chavy-cammo everywhere they go. I'm astounded that we've achieved the level of gutter language responses that we have. I was expecting little more than simple grunting and chest beating. Sorry, enough of the derisory mocking re

  21. loving that adavatr pal Thanks mate, hope they don't take that one like the last one
  22. You were already given proper advice that your not taking, better it be a pet than be pushed too hard too soon. If you needed a dog working now you should have bought an older dog. Why are you working a young pup in the summer?
  23. ffs this is what I normally wear and have had nothing but compliments and my pink poodles don't pull on their leads at all
