  2. Hopefully the "seller" isn't selling pups or dogs often enough to have many people to have references from. If they did they would be called breeders not pedlers. If someone wants to breed for themselves and offer up the rest that aren't going to mates on here that's not a problem but the main thing seems to be people selling dogs for "friends and family" seem to have plenty of them.
  3. Will do, get ready for the red button alarm to go off.
  4. I wonder what was written on the notes that were left behind for them. They thought it was funny.
  5. Every day that I'm out with my dogs is the best day no matter the weather or outcome and I don't need money or a passport for it.
  6. But looking at the original design do you think it would have been safer for dogs since the spool would turn freely?
  7. He's not just been a naughty boy on here http://www.fiestaturbo.com/forums/trusted-non-trusted-traders-vt123743/page280/
  8. Where'd he go? I thought he wanted to chat?

  10. Sorry nutter but I just glanced at your topics and a big red flag came up when you asked how can you tell if your bitch had the snip Usually if you've taken to the vets and had it done That would be a question you would expect from someone that has taken a bitch and wants to breed from it. Not saying that you did but that was my first thought. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/202262-how-to-tell-if-my-bitch-has-had-the-snip/page__fromsearch__1
  11. If I hit the report button every time I notice something I would call shifty people would think I'm a big snitch and annoying. I rather annoy the person that's being shifty than the mod's and it gives other people a chance to see what they are dealing with. ALWAYS read their old listings if you are looking to buy and if your giving away a dog read the persons posts. Someone on here had talked about leaving dogs in the field when they jack and was given a dog not too long after that.
  12. We all have seen what barbed wire can do to our dogs and I was wondering why someone would design something so stupid so I looked it up. This is the first patented design for barbed wire. http://www.kentohio....nts-barbed-wire It looks like the original inventor thought about other animals because he had spools with spikes on them. I'm wondering if this would have been safer for dogs then stationary barbs that don't move. What do you think? edited-title should had said "of"
  13. an interesting read on how mixy was introduced http://www.wellcome.ac.uk/News/2005/Features/WTX024879.htm
  14. It doesn't hurt trying smaller places to get your foot in the door. I bring permission forms with me for people to sign.
  15. tape can't you afford a muzzle? You can just hold the dog by the collar and let t smell the back of the ferret so the dog gets a look at it. You said the dog is good with cats and is obedient so there probably won't be a problem.
  16. I don't like flicking ferrets and have seen them become aggressive when other people have done it. As said before feed them well first, clean your hands, hold them behind their back and under the arms, don't put them down when they get nippy. I shout no and pry open the mouth carefully if they do get hold. Daily attention is important to get them used to people. A play mate is a good idea also. Best of luck with your new rugshark
  17. I just take the head off and skin them
  18. As far as recall you can do it for quite some time when you offer treats and mix it with other training. Pups love the attention and praise. If you make it a game you get the bond and the training down without effort. My dog will now look at me and hope for me to give it a command.
  19. How many "Texans" do you know? I know quite a few of them who catch quite a few hogs and I aint never heard them tell of a dogo nor an "American" bulldog, whatever the f**k that's supposed to be. American bulldog can be a mix of different bully breeds, some look pit and others look like what Americans call bulldogs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Bulldog There's another thread in the general section on the changes in bull breeds in the US and some of the pits bred look like bulldogs.
  20. Great looking pups hope you find a good home for them
  21. One problem, when you sell the pups on pets4homes for less then you're offering them on here people might not find that very fair, you might want to update the price. http://www.pets4homes.co.uk/pets4homes/home.nsf/dogsforsale/F9B33CE3A4231150802578F4005F9906
  22. If you buy it you will become a thl legend
  23. The dogs aim for the face which gives them a lot of control that's the same reason why they put a ring through a bulls nose. Just like a ferret aims for the rabbits eyes. It's instinct but the dog would have to be in very good shape to do any damage. In bull baiting the bulls were tethered so it wasn't a fair fight. Keeping low to the ground was helpful for the dog and the bulls naturally lower their head to see the dogs and aim for them. http://www.bulldoginformation.com/bull-baiting.html
  24. Looks like his dad really punished him well seeing that Matt was logged in today
