  1. The easiest way if your dog hunts up after a missed rabbit, is to call the dog and if he does not return lamp off and go back to the car and when the dog eventually comes back go home. once the dog realises the game(night) ends when he hunts up( feck off) he will soon come back. But like other have said get the recall as best as you can and get him so easy success.
  2. bump!!!! eyes open lads, this vehicle is in the area still, was spotted today!!!!!!!!! How do you know mate? I hope they get these dogs back from the thieving b*****ds!
  3. I just did google John Orr and judging by the 'utter guff' he has on his website I would steer well clear............... I am no Drop net expert but I would be more worried about the actual drop system and poles used than the net. A reasonable 4z with plenty of kill will suffice to mesh your rabbits, but dropping the net efficiently I suspect is the real issue you need to get right.
  4. Once you have been around dogs a 'while' and not 5 minutes you will realise that a dogs breed really has very little to do with aggressive behavior. Alwasy look at the owner and how they behave and how they allow their dogs to behave.
  5. A mate of mates had this bitch and her pups stolen, anyone who knows anything or sees these dog please get in contact. http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog_blog.php?dogId=32105#.TlNaqReDqWd.facebook
  6. If you want a number for a good running dog vet in East Devon send me a PM
  7. Certain food types will be more use than others and protein and fat are ideal. The bit to remember is that its al about volume eaten and how the dog uses that food, so feeding several small meals is far better to encourage weight as the dog will use this far more efficiently.
  8. At least 80yrds is nice, but when out on a days coursing on small land this has to vary as the hare is at the hedge before you know it especially when the hare jumps when the line has walked 3/4 of the field. It's a differnt story when out on big land and then law should be given When out for the pot or mooching 'fair law' does not come into it as its about catching and not coursing Shame it's all history now, I used to enjoy proper coursing in good company
  9. Nasty scumbags http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Gex_ya4-Oo
  10. Ahh OK I believe you just like east anglia
  11. I find it pretty sad to see hares lamped and especially in Devon and Cornwall as there are not huge numbers, different story in Dorset and Maybe Somerset. I guess we all do silly things when we are kids, but now it seems it's OK to spread it all over the internet, does noone any good really does it.
  12. I am sorry dances but you are either showing your complete lack of experience or you must be taking the P*ss as a 5mins run on the lamp is very very very unlikely to ever happen. Good luck to you for inviting folk down on to your land, but IMO you must be fecking nuts
  13. Spot on WHIF, why would you want to invite a load of people you don't know on to your land? Unless your a little 'touched' or young and Naive. Just carry on and do what you do and feck the rest of them

  16. Welcome/Bonjour Do you follow hounds? and what do you Hunt?
  17. And that is the crux of the matter Idealation, There is a demand for the elusive 'Working Whippet' and some one is supplying that demand. And it seems on the back of a show/coursing kennel of the past. If people did there home work I am sure they could find other 'working whippets' without all the marketing and spin, but sadly people want a 'one stop shop' just like 'Hancocks' is the 'one stop shop'for the collie X fans It's not just MB either there are a few people now pushing out a few litters of this lucrative commodity also, and like I said earlier most are not doing it from the goodnes
  18. If that's sarcasm its pretty funny, if its your real view its pretty sad Everyone knows a alaunt x malamute x grey is the best
  19. Good advice skycat, Durham Animal Feeds are an good company to deal with also.
  20. Yes i agree he does breed in part for money, to make a living, a long with improving his lines etc. But what is wrong with that. 'Puppy peddling' you will cry, well i don't think it is, if your producing quality dogs, are honest about what you produce etc, and breed far far less than you COULD sell. He has also never said he breeds 'laguna' whippets, just that his dogs carry a chunk of laguna blood, amongst others. You try to compare him to Hancock, in my opinion they are in two TOTALLY different leagues. Can you tell me why exactly selling pups is so bad? If they are well bred, well rear
  21. I am not disputing IF his dogs are good workers or not. The one's I have seen have been nice enough, not my cup of tea I must admit. But when someone is producing 2 or 3 litters a year they are not breeding simply from the kindness of their hearts are they? In the majority of cases it boils down to the £££ in their wallet.
  22. I think the selling of his dogs (several litters a year) is part of the problem The working dog world would be better of without people cashing in as the only person who benefits is the seller and never the quality of the dogs in the long run. :(
  23. I have heard that the iPhones are more stable, have better screens and do not have the problems with virus's that androids have. But i just hate that fact that people buy apple, simple beacause its a 'name' when a android is as good?
