  1. I would get shot mate, its obviously pants...... Can it catch a plastic bag that is the question?
  2. Recall, recall recall, get the dog carrying and try not to walkout to a dog
  3. Hunting with any sort of dog and game fishing as a close second.
  4. That's a smart pup Buster Gonads. Nice shape.
  5. Thats a bummer mate. He sounds to be getting aright thus far, I hope he carries on, he looks a tough old dog We all need a good bit of luck with these dogs that's for sure
  6. Cant beat a few poke nets in the bag, ideal for laying in hedge runs too
  7. Looking nice indeed. Massive, but a genuinely nice shape,
  8. Normal i should think., you will often get a flat patch after the should blades and before the rise of the spine.
  9. That's a fair haul of blackun's, I can honestly say i don't think I have caught any blackun's in the last 10 yrs local to me....
  10. There is the odd whine and there is a yapper BIG difference. Silent is ideal however.
  11. Really? Why would you? I have seen a few Caucasian Ovcharka's in Europe and I really can't see them being much use as a rabbit or rat dog lol after seeing them first hand they are a lot of dog for your dollar and let's just say not the most reliable in the temperament department, based on what I saw. A very tough hardy breed.
  12. Perfect for that job, seen very similar several times :-)
  13. I have hunted a fair bit with GWP's and they will turn their hand to anything. Proper HPR's (Hunt Point Retrieve) and so much more. They are allot of dog for your money, but they need WORK My only issue is they make a ugly cross with a greyhound
  14. Nice ol' haul of mushies, its been a good year this year, however I haven't had that many field mushrooms, just puffballs and heaps of parasols. Good Hunting Sirius
  15. Very good stuff and so is there surface cleaner. I also rate Cromessol, I have useed them both regularly for years.
  16. Good thread, great to see some of the varying types of dog people use for rabbiting, a real mixed bunch
  17. Yes I supplement where appropriate or needed, whether this be a pre made product or by supplementing the diet with additional naturally occurring foodstuffs which will benefit the dog if it needs it. I have always fed a pretty well 100% natural diet. In answer to the OP I don't use things to encourage muscle development or to help recovery as I aim for a overall good standard of health from good diet and conditioning, saying that I have used electrolytes in the past, but opt for honey and water more often if anything at all.
  18. As said get the poor dog to a vets had them cut out at vets and they still came back? Sadly this is often the case, they tend to come back. Surgery is the best option if they are bad and keep your fingers crossed they don't reoccur.
  19. Apart from all the stuff Paula's said which I agree with how do you have the time to take decent pictures when out hunting anyway? To be serious about pictures you go out with the sole intention to take them. It's hard work to do both and enjoy it IMO. And for me I enjoy working the dog more than camera!
  20. Pics of this site seem to regularly appear of facecock. One of my dog did recently, puts me right off posting.
  21. Rather have a 'reading' vardo or even better a top of the range 'Hobby'
  22. Adjust the diet and look at a decent quality fish oil such as Cod Liver Oil or Evening Primrose Oil in most cases get the problem rectified. Also be aware that in young dogs that they tend to shed skin a bit more and its often more noticeable on darker dogs. Good luck Sirius
  23. Nice pup, looks to have some substance for a half whippet too.
