Dykos, i wouldnt be surprised if your pup turnsout a bit like my older dog who has the same Sire. I really liked that collie marked pup when i saw the litter, but i ended with a merle as i let my boys choose my pup...happy with that.

Nice Pup...I have a litter brother...hes a bruiser.. Definitely a bit of Deerhound type in there and alot of collie, with a fair dash of grey and whippet.

I am in the market for a new lurcher pup. Specific breeds are not a problem, as long ias from workers. Saying that my type generally have collie, grey, saluki, deerhound in the mix. And I do love a merle, not that colours matter ? I am a bit out the loop on here but many members know me and might even vouch for me ? ? So if you know of anything being bred, present, future maybe send me a message. It will be a good home where the pup will see plenty of work, good grub and attention. Cheers Sirius/reload

Make a ugly Lurcher, but they could be good. I have hunted in the company of several gwp and they are grafters. Kill a fox with ease and retrieve a bird with a soft mouth, work cover as good as anything. A real Moocher dog, not a gundog but a true Hunt Point Retieve merchant.

Just my pennies worth on whippets. Whippets have there limitations for me and others, otherwise we would all be using them pure bred. Height, strength,skin and robustness physically I dislike, and many have too much of a terrier single minded attitude mentally for me. ( I know they are not all the same) I have lamped and ferreted quite a few, both my sister and father breed them and have done for years. I have seen dogs from various kennels of note. I maintain they are the most exciting dog I have ran on rabbits on the lamp and to watch work, furious, explosive and entertaining. But not

Looking good lads, I do like the look of that longhaired pup. Speed machine under a collie coat, classic old Lurcher. You can see cloud has the rabbiting game sussed Ken. Your right this time next year they will be different dogs. Ianto really finished at 24months physically.

Had a walk out tonight, perfect conditions, windy, 8degrees. Not so much about as expected and muddy and hard going after all the rain we have had. Dogs did well and bagged most on a hilly field backing on to woodland where the rabbits were in nice pockets of twos and threes, the rest were ran on maize stubble. Happy with my dogs effort, still runs in a bit fast, but getting better and better. Jekylls dog was mustard as usual, she is a really good bitch.

The best times watching a dog work are seen without a lens in the way. Getting rabbits like that must come from her sire lol

I suppose we caught between 75% of what we ran, so numbers are not bad on the spot we went. However a few miles down the road you will be lucky to see half a dozen on 200 acres.

Myself and Jekyll finally got out with the dogs this week. It's been so foggy and still it's been frustrating but finally the wind and temperature went up. Jekyll had his bull saluki grey bitch and his led lamp and I took ianto my collie whip grey and my deben candle in a jar. The ground wasn't holding as many rabbits as usual but enough in every field to give the dogs some sport. The score was 20 rabbits,not sure who caught what but Jekyll bitch caught a few more than my dog.
