  1. The thing is with black pups you notice it more and as pups are growing at a fast rate there skin is constantly growing (after all its the biggest organ of the body), so its not usually to much of a problem. Like socks says oil and fish can help or Evening Primrose Oil or Cod Liver Oil is good also.
  2. Terrible, made worse by the two vets missing the problem. RIP DAVE
  3. Lamp off and walk away to the car and head for home! You need to end the game for the dog. Don't flash the lamp looking for the dog it will only encourage it or worse find another rabbit. Won't take the dog long to sus that this behaviour won't get it more runs. And get the recall at night improved, It can all be exciting stuff for a new pup, so stay chilled and all will be irie!
  4. Nice looking pup, but could do with a bit of weight on it IMO. How old?
  5. To many possible causes IMO. Without a autopsy it's all guess work. But the bitch was fit and running well.
  6. Good few rabbits, if the rabbits are there and there's a few pairs of hands you can really make a big old dent. The weathers been shite last few days on the south coast alright!
  7. Very true, it depends in the dogs genetics. However, feed wise lots of small meals daily is best, not one or two big meals. Small meals will be more efficiently used by the body. Good quality food stuffs, tripe, chicken, beef and some offal. Use a whole meal mixer biscuit (laughing dog) if you want to use a mixer. Keep it in a dry draft free and warm kennel. Good luck
  8. Another good night Jim. Those dogs must have some minerals and be in top condition to consistently catch these bags, credit where credits due takes some doing that I am sure! Good hunting Sirius
  9. Swg Dave, Just change the bulb to a 75 or 100watt makes a difference.
  10. Why not just teach a 'leave/ release' command? surly its easier? But before that the OP needs to sort that bite problem It's easy to do.
  11. I would not pay heed to advice to 'hit the dog' or disciplining it physically. You want to build trust, its really important Start using treats for general training, get it used to coming to your hand for its reward. Then teach a 'leave' command its really easy to do with treat training, plenty of youtube clips etc. The best tip when the dog brings things into to you be it a dummy, a old bottle in fact anything, it is to NEVER snatch it from the dogs mouth. Let it TRUST you and get used to being close to you with its catch/dummy without fear of you snatching it away. If the dog i
  12. I think you will find the CPS won't bother with more than you think, especially rape case's, my niece was raped 2 years ago by her mates husband, the cps didn't want to know, the police told her it wasn't uncommon, those cases are so hard to prove, they often won't bother unless the evidence is really good. Its a bloody grey area, and like any law can be manipulated, often to the benefit of the accused. There are some bad C**TS in this world, who will take advantage if they can. I know of some lives really messed up by fuckers with no conscience or respect of other human beings.
  13. A real crying shame mate. She went doing something she had done many times before and we hoped many times in the future, she lived for it and was a real natural....sadly it just wasn't to be :( RIP GIN
  14. I have found the Tracer 140 variable with a bigger bulb retro fitted superb, now in its second season
  15. Gutting, good dogs break your heart every time. RIP
  16. Cant wait to dust of the fly gear after watching that....
  17. It's just educating the dog, but I would opt for a robust type of dog, with enough size so it can afford to take a knock or two
  18. Just sharp faced long ferrets aren't they. I have two albino Jill's from a bloke who has given up due to old age they could be called greyhound ferrets. He bred the line for eons, to me they are just a nice type of ferret. I Tried breeding both Jill's and I have failed apart from one Jill , disappointing. How ever I will breed her this year if I can find a suitable hob.
  19. Did my first proper hedge of the season a week or two ago lol the scratches on my hands were terrible lol still we managed 25. It will be mainly hedges now till we pack up as they tend to be shallower! Good hunting !
