Every pup is different and often I let them guide you as they will often drop a feed naturally as they grow. I would expect a pup of that age to be on 2-3 feeds. I personally do a light breakfast of goats milk/live yoghurt the odd egg and a small amount of meat and cod liver oil and sometimes slippery elm powder. Then the lunch and evening feeds of meat/offal/bone and veg with some Kelp seaweed powder or similar. But that's just how I do it. Good luck with your pup

I have a Carryboy canopy on my new truck, but it has no opening windows, I am thinking of ways to improve ventilation in the hot weather rather than replacing the canopy. I am thinking the rotary spinner type vents and maybe having a sliding window at the bulk head to replace the current solid glass one? Does anyone have any advice or done this to there vehicles? Regards Sirius

I agree before 'advocate' was launched it was very rare and still is really. Bayer are very clever in there marketing, creating the fear/worry of lungworms, and they just do happen to produce the solution in 'advocate' lol Saying this 'if' your dog is unlucky enough to contract lungworms it can be bad news. So for piece of mind it's worth treating your dog if you live in a high risk area.

That's quite a outing for a first night on the lamp. Well done that pup!

I feed mackerel raw and whole, usually with their guts out. Same with sprats when they come in on masse, great big silver tide mark of free dog grub.

I think your pup is from the same litter as my hunting mates, so about 4 months or so? Does the pup carry when playing? If so what does it like to carry? as whether its a soft toy or your Mrs slippers that is the item you want to start with Like Mr Darcy says, no rush, get the recall good and find what makes the dog tick, sometimes a plain dummie isn't interesting enough.

With a adult dog I often leave it 6 months, unless I see a problem, but a sensible regular regime is always a good idea.

Well my dogs 'Vegan' Just like me, I don't know what you're all getting so upset about Nice pups gafer, give em some soya milk
-
I know that feeling, takes a wee while  Great load of grub for the dogs though, The mackerel will really start coming in round here soon, cant wait to fill up my freezer

Exactly, people who are good at it, do not make good TV, everybody likes watching the ones that suffer or who are oddballs

Have a big fry up yourself, and leave the dogs out. More than likely full of salt

It has been around a while and its a Mixer not a complete, met the man that owns the company a few times years ago. As I understand it, its a hard baked wholemeal mixer biscuit with a few additions (made at the same place as Laughing dog in fact the same biscuit or it was at the time) Personally I would use laughing dog Mixer as plain mixer, its as old as the hills and is what it is, never used this one. -
How olds the pup? Most pups will 'Blow' their coat heavily around the 5-8 month mark. Looks terrible in black dogs particularly, its also often accompanied by dandruff (like in your pic) which again sticks out more with black dogs. Good varied diet and oils, also the addition of Evening Primrose Oil can help in my experience. I have a black smooth pup here ( 9 Months old) and been through the same thing recently, it came out in clumps.

I wouldn't keep a 'pilot' dog as I hear they always get into 'dog fights' -

Could I run a 'Pilot' dog on a windy night or is it too turbulent? -

F##king hell, this thread has cheered up a otherwise dull day... I would love a 'Pilot' dog to go with my Catch, Chase and Kill dogs, but I don't have the kennel space or a 'runway' either for that matter  -
I feed a predominately raw meat and bone diet, and with a puppy, its started as soon as possible, they thrive on it. Keep the diet varied, do some research and you wont go far wrong. I have never fed a complete diet to my dogs in my life

That is how I see Feck which way round they will throw, the 'Hard' part if finding suitable dogs

No one wants a jacker, cocker, quitter etc I think is pretty obvious isn't it? Just worries me when younger inexperienced owners get all ego'ed up and expect this that and the other from a dog as they read it in a book or on a Internet forum! Give them as much as you can that for sure, just make sure the dogs up to it.

I find the phrase is synonomous with ego and testosterone. However I do feel we all need to give our dogs a good workout in various tasks within their capabilities to find out what they are about.

Hes thrown to the Anatolian by the looks of it. Do you know much about the Beauceron? Was it a import or a uk bred dog? The Beauceron is a superb working animal IMO.

I struggle getting bananas eaten by th dogs unless really mashed up or blended.

Cleavers/ goosegrass/ sticky willys / soldiers buttons or plain old Galium aparine lol are really growing at the moment and my dogs are doing the same. The benefits when ingested in its whole raw form are reduced due to a dog not being able to break down plant matter in its whole form as effeciently. When used in a medicinal form it's dried and ground down usually. It's a mild diuretic and can help the urinary system, skin and lymph system. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galium_aparine I think it's just that time of year where the dogs just can't resist new growth and make a bee line

Good selection. Tie them yourself? Yes mate, I only use flies I've tied myself. I must dust the vice off and make a few more myself!
