Yes the ring is of no use in the setting of the trap and yes the trigger is i gather a little forked stick . I will re string it and show you how i think it works. Like i said in the earlier post someone as had a go at making a mole trap made from bits they had lying around it works in a fashion but they werent ever gonna rich from it If theres any traps you want from over here give us a shout as im sure we could do a swap or two as theres a few from over there i would like Earth thrower ive never tried the wooden barrels not because they dont work just mine are a bit fragile and burying
-
They were certainly effective in their day but for deeper runs bigger holes needed to be dug for the enormous spring. i personally have not used any

I dont think you will see another either Its certainly an homemade affair and definately a ONE OFF . I put some string in it and set it but lack of power in the spring wouldnt kill a mole but it would certainly hold it. It was picked up 6-7 mths ago from a collectors fair for a £1 , and for that money i couldnt resist bearing in mind some one somewhere put time and effort into making it or more to the point "putting a few bits of metal together" in hopes of catching a mole

Yes i do i often take the BSA s out round the chicken pens for rats the BSA club standard .177 is the gun i prefer for that a very accurate rifle pigeons and rabbits on the corn fields at the back of the house are easy targets with the BSA long tom .22 but it is all close range stuff. To answer the other question from Davy is they do get fired from time to time mainly by my lad who plinks with them in the garden he prefers the Diana mod 27 and the BSA light pattern both .177 . One of the places i work has a pigeon /rabbit problem so i always take a rifle up there either the Airsporter or the -

Anyone know where i might obtain one be a female or a musket ? Or even a breeding pair so i could breed my own. Looking at my last lot of paperwork its been 13 years since my last breeding pair went and 12 years since my last little musket died. I didnt replace them as i moved from West yorkshire to West Berkshire with work and didnt have the time . I still have a few little bits of equipment plenty of space ,land and alot of time so reckon nows the time again. I got into them as i lived near a cricket field and a churchyard and hopping over a wall or two always gave good sport anytime of d

Thanks for the comments Theres BSA S, LINCOLN JEFFRIES, 5-6 DIANAS, GERMAN MILLITIA , RELUM AND A HAENEL . Everything prewar with the exception of the relum. There all working a few with non-original working parts ie sights and a few odd screws .I Dont have any webley rifles not come across any at the right money yet but have a webley mk 1 pistol along with a zenit and 4 tin plate dianas again all working. I Like to collect the pellet tins and boxes too . Im using a BSA AIRSPORTER MK6 FOR HUNTING AT THE MOMENT Along with a WEIHRACH but prefer the old Lincolns /BSA s they just feel better. -
