Best way sometimes but later down the line and if your accuracy starts to suffer it's a bit late then wondering if it would have made a difference shooting it in.
I haven't been meticulous with my new rifles but I did make an effort with the first few shots with bore cleaner. I would say get the cleaning rods out and give it a good scrub now though. You should have run a dry patch through it before you shot it in the first place to get any oil out of the barrel.
going to clean it now asap.i have prop shot about 130 rounds through it.
ill defo try and get some of them be good fun shooting bunnys with them just as the sun is going down.i have shot 556 in tracers when i was in the army
Where do you live mate ?
I think there is a club in Cardiff, If you get any luck let me know Im also interested!
near bridgend mate.will let you know if i find something.
yep understand mate just pisses me off when someone says something silly like going around blasting the country side to pieces.dont mind people picking me up on things. but like i said the fox was dispatched.this is why i have just got a .223 so i can hit them stone dead at distance.no one one likes to see anything suffer
hi does any of you have the north star mod i just got one on my .223 paid £225 for it.seems heavy i no its sainless just wondering what you think of them
I've suffered this problem as well and have had mixed results with putting meth soaked cotton wads down the barrel prior to shooting to eat the oil away which many believe is what causes cleaned rifles to lose their zero for up to 5 shots.
cheers Callum
How far out would yours go at 100 yards
yeh its a 1 in 12 twist.i have been buying the hornady 40 grains i found them very good i was thinking of loading the 40 grains.do you think the 55 grains are better? i have not tryed them.
i will be shooting foxes
I use 40 grain V-Max bullets as well as l like the lack of recoil compared to the 55's but as l have just gone and bought myself a .270 calibre rifle recoil is something I'm going to have to learn to get used to
cheers Callum
like i said i havent used the 55s but the 40s seem to do the job on foxes
with a 17 hmr you put a few rounds down to scope it in,if then you clean the barrel you will lose the accrucy.you will have to put another 5 rounds down to bring it back on to zero.so i been told?????????
