  1. People ask ( and sometimes get) CRAZY money for dogs here. I called and asked about a russell bitch pup years back and about fell outta my chair when I got the price. She was a sister to a very good working bitch I had here only much younger. At 6 months old the breeder wanted $1500 dollars PLUS two breedings where she picked the stud.. I payed the fee, and she got the litters. I told her to keep the pup. The dogs have became about money to most people over here. I have sold dogs in the past and for pretty good money, so I am not innocent, but I decided a while back that the dogs are just a ho

  3. [q Hi Deadgame dont think you answered the question what type of work did milo do what quarry did he take i think was the question Oh sorry, Badger, Fox, Racoon, Groundhog, Ferral cat, possum, rats, and one deer. He was not shipped to the US until he was four years old. He now has working offspring all over the United States, Italy, Finland, France, The Chezh Republic, South Korea, Ireland, and Lebanon. Todd so out of curiosity not including grounghog, ferral cat ,possum, rats, and i wont even mention the deer just how many digs has this dog got under his belt to make him worth

  6. i totaly agree with you higgins ,most terriers nowdays are going on the big side and for were i work my terriers and what i work them on i need small type terriers ,or you end up leaving them in for another day ,ive seen whippet crosses before and they seem to take to the whippet side and would take alot of breeding to get them back to terrier size with a good head ,also whippets have a natural hatred for fox,s for the size of them ,ive kept back a pup out my last litter not a whippet cross but a tiny little thing that could get just about anywere if she wanted but with all the good blood beh

  11. ive a 14 month old pat here mate that wont even go to ground yet ,she joins in at the end for a rag on the dead ones .and is keen through the cover at times but its a waiting game but i know she,ll come good in the end ,all dogs are different and go when there ready. no point rushing them
  12. is there another dog out with you ,my bitch will walk steady all night if she,s out by herself but if there,s another dog out with her she tends to pull a bit and can be a pain in the arse .if there,s another dog try taking her by herself for a few times and you,ll see the difference
  13. dosnt matter what cross you,s on about, if it aint fit it aint gonna catch much ,and if you dont run bunnies then how fit do you realy think your dog is ,ive been out with lads that keep all kinds of lurchers and if they arnt fit they wont last the night and then the dog gets slated when realy it should be the owner getting slated for taking a dog out thats not fit .jmo .yes i keep a bullx and yes i runn bunnies as there,s no better way of keeping your dog in tip top condition and the expieriance comes in handy when they running charles . imo
  14. had same thing a few year back ,dog was in for 3 days and never heard a peep out of him ,thought it was bad news but got him out in the end ,dug 18 ft to him to get him out ,thought he was a gonna but just shows you never give up .if i was closer i would defo be there giving you a hand pal,try using some drainage rods with another locator on the end did this with mine on the 3rd day and the little fecker grabbed them and started tugging on the rods ,so i at least new he was still alive and raised all hopes also i hope you bloked the hole end up when you left or had someone there with him jus
  15. my oldest lad has never shown an intrest but my youngest is like the dogs if he hears the chains rattling he comes to life ,he,s been coming out with us since he was about 8 and totaly loves it he,s 19 now and has just saved up and bought his first dog a bullgrey ,he,s been showed the ropes from an early age and is ready to start out on his own lamping nights god only knows what he,ll be dragging up the back entry in the middle off the night lol but fairplay to him and best of luck i say
  16. i.ll go with scent on this one ,i had a beddy x pat few years back now . i showed her a couple at a young age in a stop end and totaly fecked her up ,you would enter the terrier and she would find and settle down to work ,didnt matter how long you left her she would work her game and stay but as soon as you started digging and she could hear you on top she would come out and stand next to you looking into the dig ,my terriers always go in the front door now and are dug out simples as that ,some dogs are a lot cleverer than others and dosnt take much for the dog to think its doing right ,weathe
  17. my oldest lad had been round my back garden while i was at work ,when i got home all my dogs were out on the streets 4 terriers and my bullx ,found them all over apart from my bitch pup ,took me a week but tracked her down in the end and now she back in the pens .dont give up looking mate it takes a bit for the word to get round but you should get her back and defo go to the dog homes not just ring them as after 2 weeks or so they can sell them and make there money of them
  18. i was just thinking that myself ,did you dig it with the dog under your arm if so it just proves you dont need them big dogs the dog under my arm was my patterdale pup,we bolted that fox with an old bedlington that day......RIK.......that's not my old man, that was a digging friend! fair play to you vixen ,you proberbly dug more gear than alot of so called cyber hunters on here ,good luck keep it up

  22. i know that the first dsp box by bellman (pieps)can not be updated in the firmware dept ,but if they havent changed to the newer model dsp advanced ,then they must have got them on the cheap side as they are old technoligy now .and tell ,s you alot about the company ,that they are coining in again when for the same sort of price they could be giving us the faster boxs with the 3.00 firmware .this is why i went for the pulse barryvox ,its updateable ,its fast ,its accurate down to 0.1 and has a few little tricks up its sleave too. like if you set it to it will switch from search to send in 12 m
  23. is that the one under the big limestone slab ,if it was it was dug by machine as the locator had failed and another dog was entered with a working collar .not dissing the guy as the first dog lasted the whole dig
