    i was told of them a few month back ,that there was a 60 head heard being reintroduced to try and make the fallow more popular round that area and that they were being monitored and watched daily.also the river yarrow has had a few otter holts built to try and get otters back in to the area ,and they are watched daily .the head of the wildlife trust who are doing all this is an ex dci so it is not the best place to be running dogs anyway with all the activerty .up to last year we used to do a lot of fox,s round that area but got a phone call to say that all this would be going on in the next 1

    would say same ,it depends on the dog regardless of its colour ,and there,s a big difference with a dog with a good nose to a dog with a bad nose

    just watched a video on the warrener working with a well known terrier man from down south ,there,s some irish lads over for the week on it ,(this is not a pop on the irish lads ) they work cover and a lot of earths .there is dogs running every were 3 or 4 lurchers and about 4 terriers off at the one time and sometimes all 4 terreirs are to ground at the same time . alot of fox,s are bolted to guns but a few are dug too . its not the way i,d do the job and the lads i work with the same ,but its there on the dvd at the end of one of the days they have 7 fox,s dead on the bank so it works for th

    have to agree totaly with you there BBB,ive seen some very good black dogs over the years but the black and tans ive seen work seem to out weight the black dogs in all sorts of ways and normally very hard too ,before any one kicks off i keep black dogs myself its just something ive noticed over the years :tongue2:if i was you hedz i,d try and keep a few black and tan pups back because the black dog is what every one wants at the moment and it aint that easy to get hold of a good black and tan nowdays .a good friend of mine has spent the last year and a half looking for a descent black and tan

    you have your rights girl and you stick by them ,you did the right thing and you will always encounter people like that through your life ,and the out come will always be the same ,many years ago i used to get a bit of stick at school for hunting my dogs by a small group of lads ,nothing i couldnt handle though ,now many years on i still speak to one of the lads who was dead against it and is a very keen shooter now and on accasions comes out with the dogs too .funny how he cant remember being against it though when we take the piss out of him .if you like what you do then you keep doing it re

    come on lads give the lad a break ,he said one was a pup starting off and over there is totaly different from over here ,some of you,s sound like anti,s the way you go on at times .hunting is what we do so stick together now that all has been explained :thumbs:plus these lads are out hunting in -30 at times so ground would be like rock i supose ,it just could be the ways things are done over there to get results

    used to fish are canal for pike in winter and used to take my staffie with me ,he would always mess about in the weed reed beds right next to me ,pissing me off till got a run straight away and the runs just kept comming all day .tried this a few times and had better days with the dog and often blank when i never took him ,think the dog causing a disterbance in the water and spooking all the little fish out in to the open used to spark the pike into action . i proved myself right on many occasion just thought i,d trow that in for you mate (lol)

    rough wouldnt bother with canals or river at this time of year fish could be anywere and will be deep too ,try a pit for last hour of day go as light as you can like 2lb main line and 1 lb bottom us maggot and a 22 hook ,feed little and often . depending on if there is any surface movement fish shallow if no movement get deep and you should get a few rudd or roach ,if canal is only means then you would be better off with a landing net scrap along the sides if you find a little shoal you could get lucky .....had a few jacks like this too

    the dog obviously hasnt got the same attitude as you by the sounds of it ,give it time and let it watch but not run if you can get it out with another dog ,thats if you havnt beat the shite of all your mates (lol)

    well done dogs have done well for first time ,dont worry about it running away ive been digging for years and one pulled the same stunt on me earlier in the year ,couldnt believe it but there sly little feckers at the best of times ,another tip for you mate when a fox is off the floor 9 times out of ten it will freeze untill its feet touches something and then will burst back into life ,a netted fox on the ground will go mad lift it off the ground and it will more managable untill it touches the ground again .....good luck

    if both parents are good working dogs with plenty of digs behind them cant see what the problem is, as to many breed for the colour and the money ,and is about time someone bred a good working line of chocs ,i know not all will make the grade but its personal choice ive had a few black uns that never made it either and if he,s breeding for his own use go for it ....jmo....about time someone did it the wright way

    i have a bitch here in my kennels that each time you put her to ground you never know how she going to work ,sometimes she,ll mix hard but work her fox and sometimes she,s suicidal .she,s 6 year old and knows her game ,think a lot depends on the fox too weather he,s up for a good fight or not if he,s not she,s in and locked on if its a frisky one she tends to wear it down first and then steams it ,but she definatly knows her job and thats the main thing

    do a lot for trout in the summer months but like the look of pike on the fly ,what do you do about a trace ? and what fly,s are you using .looks good fun though

    for those people who have the bellman box and have had it for 2 years or so can send it to pieps and they will update the firmware which should make it quicker and maybe more accurate ,dont no how much they charge .the bellman box has been on the market for some years now and to be honest i dont no which version of the peips box they are selling at the moment but its definatly worth looking into ,if you go on the pieps website it explains on what boxs can be updated but i bet bellman are still selling the old version for the same price pieps are selling the newer version look on link device

    it used to have jet ski,s and speed boats flying all over the place and was a nightmere but they stopped all of this with a 5 mph speed limit so you get the ferry passing bye now and again and the odd rowing boat and fishing boat ,but its now a much better place to fish ,dont no about cloed seasons though on pike i think you can fish all year round but better check first

    The barryvox actually goes down to 0.0. I find it a great box and far more accuarte than the pieps DSP. cheers pal thought it was 0.1 but 0.0 is even better ,i think they are the dogs bollocks and barryvox have made the new bellman collar for bellman so i think says it all .....happy digging lads
