Think 70% of the pigdogs here have some sort of longdog in them, the longdog (roodog/staghound) have been hunting rough rocky brush and bush areas for hundreds of yrs on faster game than pigs, ground is rarely a problem for the runners here any more than other breeds Yes mate the ones I seen did have long dog but were more bully then long dog would of loved too bring back some pups from a mate of mine in quensland they were dogs that impressed me for the size they were seen them run on Roos and pigs they were not the fastest of dogs I've ever seen but bye god they would tackle lions if

They do in Oz but the lads I went out with dint like much longdog in there crosses there crosses have too put up with the heat and ruff ground u got too think of the ground is not like ours all smooth ground it's all brush and and ground that is rooted too f**k bye the hogs and ur not wanting ur dogs too go for a straight kill they are wanting too hunt up and hold onto these hogs and not get killed at the same time cos hogs and pigs are killers one block I went out with in Nz had scars too prove that they can do some real damage

Mate can't help ya on the skin thing but on dry dog food I have tried beta greyhound and chudleys greyhound and they both work well and I have one dog that does alot better on a cheaper dry food and on the house training I use a water pistol on myne if they try and do it while Iam in but what I do with a pup is every time it gets up too drink or starts walking about like it's looking for some thing too do straight outside and I keep doing it and I also say a command when it is pissing like peepee and give praise after sounds gay I know but I've got one dog that will start pissing any where if

Mate I have a prtty similar cross my self but the sire was a dhxgyxsal and dam was whipxbed very good for the permission I have they are not the quickest off the Mark and there not speed demons like a whippet but they can shift and run all nightI can have good nights lamping or a walk in the daytime on big eared rabbits there not what I'd call a great bushing dog though skin is not as tuff as it looks there retrieving is good but prey drive can be abit too much some times as soon as they see some thing moving they can have that saluki trait of not giving a f**k what u say but all and all grea

Mate if this is ur first tatto it might be wise too find a tattooist that can do the kinda work u won't and get him too make u ur own design best way I've found with tattooist is too give them a pic of the real thing and get them too make it fit you in the way u won't it too look cos once it's on it's on for life the hardest thing you will find is finding a tattooist that is very good at dog portrait tattoos

best country for terriermen.....
BIGLURKS replied to CarraghsGem's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Oz or Nz lived in both countries u can do as much hunting in these places as u like plus if u move too Oz I'd suggest farm work on cattle station or sheep station or some thing in the bush land great way too get a house when u move and the folk that live in the bush land are not like city dicks there always a helping hand just don't go too far north in Oz -
The best thing I've found too work is a light force lance or striker or some thing like them then use a cluelite battery pack and splice the wire at the end of the lamp were the cigarete connector is and connect a cluelite connector sorted great lamp and battery backs that come in all sizes and are pretty tough and the connector does not fall out every 2 mins
